I own a F3HP, and i am really happy with it, the only problem is that the LCD display has stopped working properly. The overexposure and underexposure LCD indicators no longer work, and i usually prefer manual exposure over automatic. Is this failure normal after so much use? Can it be fixed?. Aproximately how much will it cost? I dont have any complaints against Nikon, i always have enjoyed using their cameras, i have owned 3. Great cameras. I did not expect this. Anny comments?

Has it happent to any body else, if yes what can i do about it. I think it might be dust on the meter diode, is posible, if yes can i clean it my self? and how? please send an e-mail if you know what is wrong whit my camera. TB

Well.. if LCD displays that should not be a battery issue. But - that certainly sounds like the film back has not been close properly while doing the activation/ test , haha .. see if I am right.

I have experient that once, sent for servicing, the technical guy (not nikon) was kind enough to rectify it (DSounds stupid, just a hair dryer) but it works, condesation and humidity has probably cause some parts to scrwewup.itworks.

Two possibilities (user error): 1. see if you have set the lens to a small aperture i.e. f16, f22, f32 (fixed: turn the aperture ring to a smaller number like f/5.6. f4, f2.8); 2. check if you hae set the ASA to 25, 50, etc. (the ring at the top panel - LEFT hand side)(fix: turn the ASA to a larger number like 100, 300, 400). Meter again, it should work. NEXT, what lens are you using ? if it is a Niko n new AF-G series lens, then, it is not usauble because there will be no aperture rig for you to turn/change the aperture (see 1). IF you are not sure how to - read the manual at: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonf3ver2/htmls/map.htm

OR use here to find out the detail of the terms I gave:

I have some light meter display problems. My camera is fairly new, i've only used it for a couple months. When the camera is set on auto, the display only shows a -8 in any light conditions. And the the positive sign doesn't appear even when something sould have been overexposed. Did i press a lever that stopped the meter from working properly? I can't figure out what's wrong with the camera. PPPPPLLLEASE help me.
