Help with MD-4. I just purchased a used MD-4 for my F3hp. When I follow the instruction and load the film, close the back, set the counter on the drive to 36, I depress the shutter release button on the motor and the motor runs continuously until the film has complete advanced. If there is no film in the camera the winder will continue until I turn it off. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just created a small website that includes the instruction manuals for the Nikon F3HP and MD-4 motor drive. The manuals are in pdf format and you need Adobe's Acrobat reader to view/read the instruction manuals. I have other manuals both Nikon and Canon that I'll add to the site if their's enough intererst. I'd appreciate feedback from those who visit the site and download the manuals, I'd like to make it much better so please excuse the rough format since this was my first adventure into web site building. Hi Briddell, thanks for your reply, the repair man thought so too and he actually replaced the foam too. while the problem occur less frequently right now, it can be quite disturbing. Hope you can have more suggestions.

Nik- Regarding the streaks, it sounds like a foam light leak, try replacing the foam with a kit, or take it to a competent repair center, if you don't want to attempt this on your own.

Rajat, The price on a mint F3P is sort of hard to predict, since they so seldom come onto the market in that condition. Based on prices at KEH Camera Brokers, an F3P in well used condition is about $400USD, and the prices for mint or near mint cameras is running about double the well-used price, so that would put the price on a near mint F3P in the $800USD range. The rarity of the camera in that condition might increase the price even more. Good luck on your bid. Walt

I have been offered a mint condition Nikon F3P. The Seller is refusing to quote any price. Asking me to bid for it first. What should be the price in US dollars?

I currently own a F3P from a second-hand shop and the seller claims its brand new from a collector. The camera is beautiful and handling is wonderful. However, I encounter a slight problem. I get streaks of lime green or yellow on my photos when using my 50mm at 1.8 aperture and recently found out that it also occurs when using my 85mm 1.4 aperture. It only happens on a few exposures then its alright. i have sent it to the workshop before and the repairman told me he can't find the source of the problem and I even changed a new shutter curtain thinking that might have been the cause. For your info, I usually shoot without flash and at the biggest aperture Can someone tell me if this is has happened to anybody before or is there a way to fix it or it is actually common shooting in low lighting photography. Thank you! Nik Kiong

H I have a Nikon Digital 4500 model. Unfortunately, some water sloshed on it in the bottom of a boat, and it died. It was only a brief exposure but... Can someone tell me...Is there any point in trying to repair it? If os, any recommendations where, in Vancouver? Thanks
