Chris, I did not say that the F3/T was a Limited Edition. The F3/T was produced in the natural titanium finish, and yes, later in black. I had forgotten about that. The F3 Limited Edition was produced in a run of 300 and was finished in the "champagne" color. This was somewhat different that the titanium finish of the F3/T in that the titanium finish was more gray. There is a picture of that Limited Edition F3 on this site. Walt

Re: F3/T colours. I don't think Walt's info is quite right. The F3/T was not a Limited Edition. It was first produced in natural titanium finish ca. 1982/3 and this is sometimes known as the 'champagne' version. This was replaced ca. 1984/5 by the black version. All other F3s were black, including the F3 LIMITED.
I used to own a 'champagne' F3/T and I can understand why it was replaced with the black version: the 'champagne' colour looked odd against the black parts, which included all the top-plate controls including the multiple exposure lever. This F3/T was stolen from my home, leaving me with just an F3HP together with an F5, which I was able to buy with the insurance money from the F3/T.
Cheers
Chris

To Dave Lee: The Nikon F3/T had a natural titanium finish, which is sort of a grayish chrome color. The F3 Limited Edition was champagne color. Walt

I am just wondering what is the total production for every iteration of the F3's. Does anyone have any approxiamations or guesses of each one including the HP, AF, T, P, Limited, etc. Thank you guys.

Mervyn, yes you can fit and use the 80-200 F2.8 AF, and any other Nikon or third party 'F' mount lenses. In fact the F3 is one of the very few Nikon bodies which you can use to mount specialized Nikkor lenses requiring the mirror to be locked up.

Something important to note is the new Nikon AF 'G' lenses which have no aperture ring to change apertures! They will not work with any manual focus Nikon bodies.

Dioptric lenses are only meant for correcting eyesight but it will never alter the magnification inside the finder. I have bought that for a friend of mine and actually I have to bring him to the shop and try out on his own - since it was his vision and I cannot figure out for him. Hope this info helps. Have I told anyone that this is really a GREAT website ?? The more I browse, I have learnt to find out more things that I never aware of all these while with the camera that I thought I have known it inside out ! I truly admire the creator.
