Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Nikon FE Series SLR camera models - Message Board/Guestbook

I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. You may also use this message board as a guestbook for the camera.

Hey. How much is a new focusing screen for the NIKON FE camera? the splitview kind. Also, my light meter needle shakes A LOT when i adjust aperture. what's happening? I've checked the red battery light, and its bright. Also, this website suggests that in AUTO mode, the camera chooses a 'stepless shutter speed'. Is this A FACT? I thought this was a very expensive feature of more modern (and more expensive!) NIKON cameras...... what can you tell me? reply: sativagarden@yahoo.com thanks -felipe

Hi, I just bought an FE2 in pretty good shape. I now need the manual to go with it. Let me know if there is a kind soul who one to offer. The first manual body which I still cherish and keep is an FM bought in mid 70. A few years back I managed to buy a brand new F3 with the usual accessories. Last of the production #199.... When the FM3a came out, I bought a black one, which I use sometimes; but not the F3 which is for keep. I always love the elegant FE2, a must have item which I finally found and I added the MD12. Love to play with it. Still looking for a FA /F2? Maybe. Sad beauties are rare and hard to come bye. Anyway who knows here today gone tomorrow.

I was searching for the standard circular rubber cover for the eyepiece of my FE2, the guy at the camera shop gave me a eyepiece correction lens marked 0+ instead, telling me it's the same, but I feel focusing is more difficult now. Does anyone knows if the 0+ eyepiece is the same as the standard one? Thanks a lot martino from Milano

I recently bought a gently used("") Nikon EF system. The film advance does not seem to work. The Seller, of course, maintains that the Film Adavance is/was 100% fully functional at shipment... however, after extensive testing, we cannot get the take-up reel on the left to take up advance/shuttered fil,. Just to give this guy one final benefit of the doubt: Does anyone know of any secret flaws and FIXES inherent to th this model? Is there some secret to self-repair on this issue? Thanks,

Just purchased me second FE, but didnt know till i looked thru the view finder that it had a different focusing screen from my first one. Can anyone explain how to change focusing screens. I prefer the split image screen, I have the cross hair graphed screen (no split image) and would like to change it.
