Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. I have a question rather than a message. Can someone tell me whether the Nikon D series of lenses can be used on the Nikon FE so that the auto apreture and metering will work the way that it is supposed to? Thanks...jon3. From : Ronald (Ronald@brenzef.com)

Hi, Own a Nikon FE for sme time now, and its a fine piece of equipment. Lately I bought a second one which is defective (as told beforehand) Since this camera is in perfect visual condition the defect can be easy to repair (i hope). The film transportation lever is unable to transport the film.
The release button does not work due to this fact (i think). So therefore i am looking to exploded views and/of repair manuals.
Also tip are welcome. If you know a link, or have something that might help me to solve my problem I would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, ronald

Greetings to Mr. Foo and all Nikon fans. I have used Nikon FE cameras for more than 12 years and know how good they are. Postings in different sites have indicated that the Functional Resistance Element or FRE is the weak link in this camera (if dropped). Mine have not had any problems (even after being dropped hard), but I have seen two, over the years, that have had this FRE cracked, rendering the meter erratic. Now my questions.. is the FRE in the new NIKON FM3A interchangeable with the one in the Nikon FE2? Can an older FE2 with a bad FRE be repaired by installing a new FRE produced for the FM3A? Thanks in advance for any information. Regards, Carlos.5. From : Lars (owner-NikonReapir@yahoogroups.com)

I have a Nikon FE, handed down from my father. I'm still in the process of learning how to use its many feautures. It comes with the original 35mm lense and a zoom lense which I cant remember the the specs. Anyway, a friend of mine suggested that I buy a 2X teleconverter, I dont know what brand to buy, and what I need to look out for when buying, around how much one would cost. Any info would really help. Thank's in advance. Cheers, Ian7. From : Dimitris (Dimpas@hotmail.com)

Hi there. I have an FE2 with a 35-105 lens. I love it and treat it well, but now my son (14) is showing an interest in photography and I would like to purchase him a low-cost used 35mm camera. My thought is to get a nikon so we can exchange lenses, but I don't know much about the nikon line... which cameras can use which lenses. Does anyone have a suggestion? Looking for something simple, dependable, with manual and (hopefully) some kind of AE. Also, along these same lines, I was thinking about buying a 100-300mm lens for my FE2. What am I looking for? Any lenses that won't fit my camera? TIA.10.
