Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Nikon FE Series SLR camera models - Message Board/Guestbook

I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. Hi, I have been investigating use of Vivitar Series 1 flash gun to allow use of TTL metering with the FE2. Does anybody have experience they can share about what functionality will or won't work? and offer advice on compatibility (other than SB16) of later Nikon Flash units. SB25 has been proposed to me. Regards

I own a Nikon FE2 that I purchased while in college. I am looking for wide angle lenses for this camera. Any input about where I should shop for lenses would be appreciated. I live in Idaho and can look at the local shops or check catalogs or websites if anyone has some good suggestions. Thank you.

Have a Nikon FE that for a few years the shutter has been stuck, Took it to a number of shops only to be told it couldn't be repaired. Ran into a guy who used to repair Nikons and he told me that the wire from the battery to the power source was probably bad. He repaired it and put new seals on it for $50. It was like getting a new camera. This problem has frustrated me for years. I thought this post may be helpful.

Well my problem has been fixed due to a little luck. Basically the ring which has the meter coupling lever was not spinning properly. I removed my lens and then unscrewed the front piece of the camera (4 screws). When I did so I heard a "schling" sound like a spring bouncing back into place. I knew at this point the problem had been solved. I dont advise anyone to take apart their camera if they don't know what they are doing. Well I am very happy now to have my camera back, thank you very much the to creator of this page.

Let me add more, could I have misaligned the "rabbit ears" while mounting the lens? I know that stop down metering works when I press the DOP lever. Jonathan

Hi I have been using my Nikon FE for about 2 years now. I recently noticed that the match needle no longer moves when i change the aperture setting on my Nikor 50mm 1.8 lens. Is this a common problem? Can this be solved?
I would appreciate any info Thanks

Just bought a Nikon FE on ebay. The meter seems to be too far over to the left of the screen. The green tab and needle are visible, but only the last digits of the numbers appear. Is there an easy "at home" adjustment, or is this something I will have to live with until I can get it to a repair shop. Also, the film door is somewhat "loose". The catch is firm, but there is a slight wobble. I suspect maybe light seals or something of that nature. Any suggestions. Thanks.
