Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. Hello, I was thinking of purchasing a Pentax Takumar 500 f/4.5 or 500 f/5, given the competitive price and the relatively good quality. I was wondering: can couple it on my Nikon FM2? i was thinking of uying a M42 to Nikon bayonet adapter ring, but I have heard that it won't focus to infinite. Is that true? Is there any way it can focus to infinite if that is true?
Thanks a lot,

Does anyone know the Nikon part numbers for the Nikon FM (chrome & black), Nikon FE (chrome & black), and FE2 (chrome & black)? The earliest part numbers I have are for the FM2 (1683 & 1684).3. From : Tom Walker (tomwlkr@aol.com)

If anyone is interested I came across a web-site where you can buy pre-cut camera seal kits cut for your camera model I had to share because I've tried and tried to reseal my old FE and couldnt get it right. This kit I tried is so easy to do and the foam falls right into place. Ck it out if interested.

to mercadese
ur problem may not be with the film real but in the shutter. If it doesnt move back into place (because it may be jammed) then the reel will not wind and pressing the button will make no difference.
try turning the shutter dial back and forth
if this does nothing then go to a nikon dealer and they will repeair it.6. From : luis araya (soappie4u@yahoo.com)

Hi.
I just acquired a pretty good FE from the original owner and have a question about the Memory (exposure) lock lever on the camera.
I noticed that when I re-compose after pressing the lever in that the meter needle continues to move. Is this correct?? Is the shutter speed locked in even though the needle is continuing to read or is there a possible problem with the camera?
thanks,

Hi Roman,
It will be fine. I have been using K3 (that came out with FM3A) on my nearly 30 years old FE2 for a few years with absolutely no problem. The viewfinder became brighter but no exposure compensation needed.
I am so glad the debut of FM3A somehow benefitted us FE2 users. Now I am happily shooting Fuji Previa with FE2 with MD12 and my modern AFS Nikkor 17-35/2.8 and sometimes SB800. AI-S mount makes such magic combo possible. Try that with Canon!!
