Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Nikon FE Series SLR camera models - Message Board/Guestbook

I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. You may also use this message board as a guestbook for the camera.

yes, the 90 mm mentioned will work on the fe2, assuming that the lens' mount is AI.

buying an fe new will not happen. check b&h photo (www.bhphoto.com) or adorama (www.adorama.com) or another large retailer that has a large used department.

Hello,
I'm very serious about purchasing the Nikon FE2. Excuse my ignorance, but I have a Tamron manual 90mm macro lense with a Nikon mount. Will this work normally with the FE2. It's the auto-indexing concept that I find confusing. Thanks in advance. Also, awesome Nikon site. Very informative and I appreciate the layman's terms.

I have a Nikon FE 3142143 Camera w/ Nikon 1.4 lense which is in brand new condition. As I remember, not more than 10 rolls of film have been used in this camera. Can anyone give me an idea of what it is worth today?

For all those who have an interest. The FE/FE2 series web site has complete operating instructions available regarding these camera's.
Links can be found for the web site on this board at the top just under the Post a message statement or at the bottom of the page.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I just bought an FE2 with a back that doesn't seem to close properly. When locked in place, it still moves a little bit. All around te back seems to sit a seal, obnly on the side of the lock it is apparently missing. do i have to worry about this back problem? Everything else seems to be ok.

Thanks and regards
Bjoern

P.S.: And a big thank you for this great resource for nikon fans

Hey, after years of using my Nikon F...oh those were the days..somewhere, a light leak occured in the body and it's unusable now. I then recieved a Nikon FE2! Oh the light has returned (I'm sure you'll agree - there's nothing like shooting with a camera from years ago)...but alas, I cannot figure out how to wind the film! I know, it's horrible. I can do everything else with it except that :( Can someone either post back or send me an email with instructions? Thank you so very much!

Ron,
Operating instructions can be found at this site:
http://mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonfeseries/fe/index.htm
Also last time I checked you can still order an owners manual from Nikon USA for the FE2 for around $20.00 plus shipping. Hope this helps.
