Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Nikon FE Series SLR camera models - Message Board/Guestbook

I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. What does the H.C designation mean when used on the Nikon Nikkor-H.C Auto 28mm f3.5 lens? Thank you, Paul Keyser.

I have just purchased a FE2 body. I have no lenses at present. I am thinking I would like a 50mm, 20mm, and 100 or 135mm (macro) lenses. Any suggestions for lenses which offer good performance for the money and work well with a FE2. I'm a canon user in the past so nikons lenses are unknown to me. I think I would like the best 50mm i can afford... and I understand some third party wide angle zooms are good. I am an amateur and use my camera for bush walking and traveling mostly.

thank you for any help

ian

I have a Nikon fe which I purchased over 20 years ago. The focusing screen (k) is quite dirty from the foam guard surrounding the front of the screen holder.(It is crumbling) I doubt if it will ever come clean. I have been trying to find a replacement screen, but have had no luck. Any ideas where I can find one? Thank you!

I really should start to use my camera a little more. I started with a Nikon FM and moved right on up to the good old FE. I love this camera. I have the Nikon 50 mm, and some Sigma lenses too. A 28mm and a 75-300mm. I know, they aren't the greatest, but hey, thats what a hobby is right? Doing it for less and having fun. Neat website. Keep on clicking :)

The FE2 with MD-12 turns off its meter after about a minute. The FE2 when used by itself, shuts its meter after 16 secs. Hope this helps.

Question: I just purchased a FE2/MD12. Every thing I have read about the FE2's light meter on/off switch states the meter should go off after 16 seconds of inactivity. My meter will not turn off? It will go off in the M250 setting. This also applies to the exposurer comp. led in the viewfinder. Will this drain the battery sooner than normal if stored with the lens cap on?
I currently store the camera in the M250 position. Is this something to be concerned about? Cost to repair? I do have a 30 day warranty I could return the camera. What do you all think. Gave $400.00 for the entire outfit. Condition 8+
Thanks in advance .
Bob

Thank you for this page! and for any help you can give. I have an FE in for repair and the camera repair shop has been unable to find parts for it. Any web site or repair locations you can give will help. I can call the repair shop to let them know, or would be willing to send it to another shop if needed. thank you! I think the Shutter is the problem but not sure. Michelle.

I have Nikon FE I got as a gift from my wife. I am wondering if I need to re-condition it (overhaul or complete clean-up or whatever you call it). Does anyone know a reliable shop in San Frnacisco/CA area? I have personal attahcement to this camera (My wife passed away few years ago) and want to make sure that it is in good shape forever.
