Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. Battery is possibly dead. But I am more concerned with the leakage if there is any. So, please remove the cells. Next, if a new set of cells have benn changed, do try a few times to reactivate the contacts if there are deposition. May be use a eraser (rubber) to wide the contacts). How to change the battery can use the link here: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonfeseries/fe2/basic1.htm the site is a FE2 but the procedure are the same bet the Nikon (MF)3. I have a Nikon FE and my shutter will will not operate, and the mirror will stay in the up position? Is this due to bad batteries? How can I get it unlocked and working properly?
Thank you,

Hello FE enthusiasts,
Nikon uses 4- or 5-digit model numbers for allof their products (e.g., my current D40x is model 25424). Does anyone know what the model number of the original 1978 FE was in this scheme?
If you do, please e-mail it to me privately.
Thanks,

I'm back with another problem with my mint condition Nikon FE. The film advance lever moves just fine, but it's not advancing the film. This was a problem when my rewind know fell apart, but I got a new rewind knob assembly, and it now works fine. Does anyone know of a detailed parts breakdown site where I can see all of the external parts just under the advance lever?

I have used a Nikon FE 3568846 for many years. Few weeks ago I was not able to use the speed light because when it attached to the hot shoe the flash did not fire and the red light in the view finder is o.k. Off the camera the speed light fired normally. Please let me know what should I do to solve the problem.7. From : James HH (nomaiul@nospam.com)

Here is answer, but I am not so sure what is the spec of your camera type (Does Nikon has a D300 ? Sounds like a Canon).

I have a slightly battered and well used FE. Everything works apart from the fastest 4 speeds (125-). These occasionally stick and are released by the M90 speed.
Does anyone know the reason?
