Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. I'm looking for a place that can repair my FE. It's shutter locks on me for shutter speeds over 1/250 and I have to spin the shutter dial to Bulb in order to unlock it. No local stores have any parts, are there stores with parts out there at all? Send me an email if you know, thanks! -Joel2. From : Jay Swenberger (jrswenberger@yahoo.com)

I have an FE2 that needs a good repair facility. I live in Orange County, California. Are there any recommendations for quality shops in this area? Thanks, Jay3. From : Charlie (ariane_star@yahoo.com)

Hi, I just started taking pics with my nikon fe, im 19 and love the work with elder camera types. I must admit that the work with the fe is very simple, yet one can try out so many special things. I honestly enjoy it very much, and cant look forward to further experiments. last week I attempted to make some portraits with a blak and white 400 film. i kept the exposure time a bit longer than recommended, and hoped that a 500 W light would be sufficient. WOw I cant believe it: I got the pics yetsreday and I am so amazed. i am an absolute amateure, yet the pictures are really good. I am very happy to have my new camera. If any of you have accesories, filters or bags, you want to sell ... just send me a mail love charlie4. From : Stephen Perelson (pere@value.net)

I have a FE2 whose light meter has failed. My repair centers in Nova Scotia, Canada and the Nikon repair center advise me that the replacement light meters are no longer available. Can anyone advise me on how to troubleshoot and/or find the replacement parts no longer available through official channels? Thanks In Advance, George8. From : Mardi (martinreddy2002@yahoo.com)

I have a used FE that I purchased from a reputable local dealer 3 years ago that I am very happy with. I take primarily landscapes and wildflowers while hiking. I have purchased a DR-3 right angle viewer in "as new" condition (with Nikon box, Instructions in 5 languages, and a threaded adaptor ring) that is suppose to mount on the FE The very terse instructions say to remove the camera eyepiece and mount the DR3. How do you remove the original eyepiece from the FE? I presume it is threaded. Do you need a special spanner wrench to get it off without marring anything? I would appreciate any comments. Thanks.10. I too have a hang up problem with my FE. It seems this is a common problem. After taking a shot the camera hangs up and you have to go to the M90 setting to release it. It may then work OK or hang again on the next shot. The battery does not seem to be the problem as I have changed it.
