Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. Hi All, I am just about to purchase a Nikon FE2 with a couple lenes and would like to know if you can help. What I would like to Know is is when you press the shutter release button down to take a meter reading, does the neddle drop back down as soon as you have released pressure on the button or should it stay on for a peroid of time. If I hold the shutter release button down the neddle jumps up to the meter reading, but as soon as I release pressure the neddle drops back down. Is this normal. regards MickT3. Does anyone know how many of the parts are common between the FE and the FE2? I have an old FE, which doesn't work, and I was planning to buy a new (old!) one, keeping my original for future spares cannibalisation. But I'm tempted by the 1/4000 shutter speed on the FE2 (mostly for the enhanced depth-of-field control). Would FE parts fit an FE2? Any help much appreciated. If anyone has any other views on FE v FE2, I'd be interested to hear them. Thanks again. Alan4. From : Guilherme (contatogui@ig.com.br)

There are a lot of problems with the FE shutter sticking. I have solved this problem by purchasing an MD-12 motor winder that was made for the FE. Since the problem seems to be in the manual film advance mechanism attached to the film advance lever this solved my problem. The film advance lever stays in the off position when using the MD-12 which functions on the bottom of the camera advancing the film via the other end of the film advance spoon inside. Try it,you will like the MD-12 as an addition to a fine camera. Jerry6. From : Michael Mah (michaelm@berkshire.rr.com)

Hi folks. Love my FE which I'm rediscovering after a pause in my photography hobby. Anyone know where I can buy a Type B focusing screen? The split K screen darkens with the smaller aperture of my new Sigma zoom. Thanks in advance.7. From : Richard S (Yeapboy@yahoo.com)

Hello. I have a Nikon FE
My camera just had foam replaced for the reflex mirror. But not the whole foam was not properly replaced leaving openings at the edges and a big one along the part to open the prism. I was checking the camera if its ok by using a flash light facing the lens and the viewfinder and seeing leaks going through. So do I have to do a full replacement on the foam again?
Im also wondering if theres any places such as a hardware store that has this kind of foam. I also want to know what kind of foam it is using.8. From : Jerry Barefoot (jbarefoot@atmc.net)
