Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. A question for FE users: Is it costly to repair a mirror
that won't release from the locked-up position? I can release
it manually, but it relocks after I release the shutter.
Thanks.3. From : Sze (sze@creativeclicks.com.my)

I have an FE that i just bought. I am currently using it with a 50mm f1.8 AFD and a 85mm f1.8 AFD. Since I have been shooting digital, those are the only 2 lenses i can use my FE with.
My photos have been turning out alittle blur. I am pretty sure the lense are ok as I use them on my digital bodies. How do i troubleshoot what is the issue?
Could it be issues with the film pressure plate not pressing the film properly? or the focusing screen not being accurate?
Thanks

My daughter is going to be using my Nikon FE for her college photography class, and for some reason, when you shoot, and then advance the film.....you can keep advancing it.....and advancing it....I don't remember ever having that problem....you would always have to take a shot prior to advancing.
I am hoping it is something really stupid.
HELP!!!!!

I have a Nikon FE that I took 3 rolls of photos with but then I tried to get them developed the photography man said all the rolls were blank! I'm pretty sure I have it loaded right as the film advances as it should and I know I closed the back fully. The film wasn't like it had been exposed to light or anything either, there was no picture or anything at all on the film. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.6. I have a 31 year old Nikon FE. The First generation, not the FE2. It has had this particular problem before. The mirror won't come by itself. The on off lever won't wind the film and I don't know how to fix it. I had to take it to a shop to get it fixed and parts for the FE are rare and expensive. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Or do I need to take it to a shop. Any advice will be helpful

My first SLR was the Nikon FE2, though I am using a Cannon these days this Nikon is still my favorite. While in high school I used this camera to take pictures for our local news paper, so this camera means something to me. About ten years ago my sister dropped the camera into the ocean!!!! It still has sand in it, though for some reason I got it in my head to restore it. I am 'just' getting started with my research. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to get started or should I just let this camera rest in peace?9. From : Tom Walker (tomwlkr@aol.com)

Anybody can help me? Something wrong with my FE2. I replaced the batteries for the FE2 last week since I haven't used it for a while. But yesterday when I tried to use it, and I couldn't press the shutter release button - it was jammed. Even I set the mode to M250 or B, it won't work, still jammed. May I know what's wrong with the shutter release button? Shall I bring it to a Nikon dealer to fix the problem?
Thank you!
