Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Nikon FE Series SLR camera models - Message Board/Guestbook

I have my admiration for some of the selective models within the Nikon FE Series. It is sad to realise Nikon doesn't understand what we are looking forward to at times in a SLR body. As the FE series models (Other than the FE-10) have long being discontinued. You may use this site for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among yourself. Have owned a FE2 for years. Best camera I've ever owned. Attached a MD-12 several years back. Noisy but works for me. That is untill now. Need a new on/off switch for the MD-12. Help! Where do I find it?

My FE is the backup for my F90X and used almost as much. It's a lot simpler to make double exposures on the FE, than to try and program the databack on the F90. The FE is still fun to use. Can anyone tell me how to interpret the serial number on the FE so the date of manufacture can be known? Thank you for maintaining this site and for the much needed info on my FE.

Dear Jane, your camera is a Nikon FE, it comes in two versions, either in chrome and black (both are metal bodied). See here: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonfeseries/fe/index.htm The Instruction manual is also available at the bottom of the page. You can print them out as reference. Consider bookmark here as well: http://mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonfeseries/fe/map.htm If you have further doubts, use this board to ask - others may also help you to setup. Good day.

Hi, I have inherited a Nikon camera which has no model number anywhere on it, but on the back it has the following: FE3778695. It looks very mucn like the camera at the top of this page, but no model number and all black, no metal.
I would like to try using it. Does anybody know anything about this one, such as where I could find specs for it? Thank you.

I'm looking for a new Nikon camera case for my FE but have been unable to find a vendor.....any suggestions? I would prefer a fitted Nikon brand case like the kind I purchased when the camera was new. Thanks for any help.

Hi folks, I am interested in buying an F series camera. I am a beginer and am interested in knowing which of the F series would be the best choice? Thanks very much. P.S. I already have an AI mount macro lens that I would like to be able to use with the camera I get.

Help...I know a few of this type problem has been posted here, but mine might be somewhat different..maybe. My FE2 recently has No light meter needle reading in any mode.I changed the battery ,still no meter. Also the mirror in the auto mode sticks in the up position until I select a non Auto shutter speed...Sound familar? Sounds tragic. Any help would be great. Even from the 3 or 4 recent posters who mentioned having similar situations.Thank you..FEs Rule.
