Hi LK:
Check recent sales on eBay for the most accurate indication of current value. FTN's have been running from about $100 up, I would place an FT (which is the 1965 model) a little lower.2. From : lk (Floridaamerica@aol.com)

How would I find the worth of the Nikkormat 1965?
I have a bunch of lenses as well. Any information would be wonderful.

Hi Angie:
I don't have an EL2, but I think you open it by pulling up on the rewind knob. If the knob won't pull up, feel around the bottom of the knob for a tab that you can push in a counterclockwise direction to release a latch so you can lift it.4. From : Angie E (angieeisenbach@hotmail.comm)

This should be easy to figure out, but how do I open the back of the camera (where the film goes) on my EL2? I've tried everything I could think of.5. From : Norbert (vanleeuwen_nc@hotmail.com)

Hi Norbert:
This is the really cool thing about the FT2.... you can use ANY lens, as long as it has the coupling prong on the aperture ring. Non-AI, AI, AIS all work perfectly, and even a Series E or AF lens can be used (with manual focus of course) if you have the prong added to it. Meter coupling, all functions work.7. Hello,
I have a question concerning my nikkormat ft2.
I have it for a week now and im really happy with it, i was looking for an old fashioned metal manual camera for some time to get more acquainted with (SLR) photography (ive seen the malfunctions with modern plastic electronic camera's) and im hooked somehow to the entire proces of photography (though im not completely new to it).
I am looking for some different lenses to add to it, in the future (i got a nikkor-h 50mm 1:2 now), ive already seen some 24 and 28mm lenses but here is the problem, the ones ive seen do have the meter coupling prong, that external prong or "gaffel" thing (im still quite new to the entire technical diversity on the nikon lens and body line-up) on the lens itself to fit on a pin on the lens mount on the body, but some are designated as AI lenses, while the nikkormat ft2 is a non AI camera...
can i fix an AI lens (that has the external prong) on my ft2 or do i really have to get a non AI lens (with the external prong)?
cos i cant really make up from this site if i can, i read on this site you can, but the meter wont work with an AI lens... and you have to perform all sorts of special operations to make it work, at least that is what it sounds to me.

Hi Maryanna:
It sounds like maybe you forgot to hold the button in on the bottom of the camera while rewinding the film... do you think that's a possibility?9. From : rick oleson (rick_oleson@yahoo.com)

Hi Norman:
I would expect your repairman to have already checked into this, but - what battery do you have in the camera? The original battery for the FTN is no longer made, and today's alkaline "A625" replacement has the wrong voltage and will give inaccurate readings. If you have an A625 battery in the camera, you might try replacing it with a #675 Zinc/Air hearing aid battery and re-check your meter to see if it is accurate with that battery. (click the Url link above for more details on this)
If your meter is still one stop off, then setting the ASA ring to either 1/2 or 2 times the ISO speed of the film (depending on which direction it's off) should take care of it. The amount of error may not be the same at all light levels, so the 1-stop correction may leave you with some error in some cases, but the latitude of print film should be enough to cover it.10. It's been a long time (7+ years since I used my Nikkormat camera. The last role of film was shredded in the cannister when I took it in for film developing. I bought it used, so never had a manual, can someone tell me if I loaded the film wrong? thanks for your help
