I just received my dad's Nikkormat and want to make sure which one I have before I order a manual for it. On the top of the camera it reads "FT 3914911'. Can anyone help me determine which model I have?

There's a really interesting picture of the girl from that famous National Geographic Society. You know the one taken by famed photogrpaher, Steve McCurry of the girl in a hood with brilliant green eyes. its a photo study of her then and now and its really cool. Its the best thing ive seen lately, and its at www.takegreatpictures.com. Check it out.

Two months ago I bought very used Nikkormat FTN (no 4663684) camera. Before I used Exakta Varex VX and modern (?;))RTL1000.
In this Nikon everything is working correctly. I found some positives to use Nikkormat, like additional window for TTL photometer and very useful, but strange, ring for exposure time. This camera has only one minus - not interchangeable viewfinder (I know this is unprofessional camera). My final opinion: I should buy it more years ago.

Concering the 1.35v battery dilema for the Nikkormat FTn's. I just read that the Bogen Photo Corp has a device to adapt two SR44 1.55 silver oxcide cells to equal 1.35v. It is for use in their older Gossen Luna-Pro light meters which used the 1.35 mercury batteries. It is thier part number 4145. I read in the other thread that the cost is $18.00 which includes the two batteries. I wonder if this is a viable resolution for us Nikkormat users?
