Hi Gene: The Nikkormat nameplate is spaced away from the camera by a small metal tube spacer around each of the 2 screws. If you only found one loose one, you might hunt for another like it... :)=

My bother gave me his camera and it is a Nikkormat FT 4524394 since I am going to start photography class and I believe this camera is extraordinary, but where I can find lenses, zooms and accesories for the camera. Do you have literature on your archives records?

I just bought a second Nikkormat Ftn for my son. It was mounted with a Vivitar zoom lens that wouldn't dismount. I finally got it off by bending the aperture fingers to enable adequate lens rotation. (lens had been someone else’s waterloo) I traced the problem to a rocker assembly behind the Nikkormat cover secured by two screws to the prism. When I removed that cover a 1/8" diameter brass bushing (?) fell out. I can't find a logical place for it. Where does it go?

Hi Michael: There are people selling kits to replace the light seals in older cameras; one that I personally like is Jon Goodman, who sells on eBay under the name of "interslice". You can also experiment with various materials and adhesives and obtain acceptable results, but Jon's kits are inexpensive and include good instructions. If you don't like eBay, he can be reached at JGood21967@aol.com. :)=

Larry and Alan, You can get the equivalent of the Wein cell for your Nikkormat for $1 at a pharmacy (see attached Url). If you don't mind paying the $5.25, the Wein cell is slightly more convenient, but the cheaper hearing aid batteries work just as well in your meter. Rick :)=

Hi Alan Geiger, I just recently replaced my the battery in my Nikkormat (FT) with a replacement battery from Ritz Camera Shop. I don't think you'll find the Mercury 1.3 battery anywhere so you will have to go with the replacement battery. The battery I bought works great. It is the Wein Cell 1.35V Mercury replacement battery number MRB625. Replaces PX625 and PX13. The battery is for Nikkormat F and several other brands. I had to pay $5.25 for my battery. Hope this helps.

By the way, I am looking for the screw on eyepiece for my Nikkormat SLR view finder. If you have any idea where I can find one, pleas let me know. Thanks

Hi John: Yes, your lens will work perfectly without the filter; its main purpose is to protect the lens surface, so that those water marks are on the removable filter rather than the lens. Filters like this are not expensive, your best bet would be to throw this one away and buy a new one to protect your lens.
