I have a Nikkormat FT3 Camera. Unfortunately I have lost the Finder Eyepiece which Screws on to the Camera Viewfinder at the back of the Camera. I have tried to Contact a Serviceperson for Nikon in India and have been informed that these Spares have been discontinued. Any help as to where I can buy this piece from will be highly appreciated. I have a Nikon Nikkormat FTn camera and it is missing the shutter release button. I need to find a body working or not or just the shutter release button to restore my camera to working order. It still takes great pictures (manually) and has been in my possession for over 25 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fred

"Philip Le Bas": It is such a shame Nikon service center does not accprt product of their own brand for servicing now. (Reason being they don't carry parts anymore and it is risky IF their service technicians accidentally damage some parts....). Well, luckily that has created business opportunities for many experienced servicemen such as picture like this guy: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonf2/prisms/index.htm That should not cost too much to reseal at the lining in and a round the camera back (usually, the foam under the reflex mirror had to change too). The trick is simply look for any capble technician outside, or ask any camera shop which usually has a service outlet on their own. Cheers.

My question concerns a 25 year old Nikkormat FT2. Light appears to be entering the camera body where the camera back and body make contact. The black sponge rubber seals have disintegrated. Does any one know if there is replacement material available to re-seal ? Thanks.

I use a Nikkormat FTn. I have been following the battery questions for a while now, regarding the voltage drop needed for the newer alkaline batteries versus the older mercury batteries. I have "recalibrated" my FTn by using a light meter: for the alkaline cell, when fairly new, I use 400 speed film, but set the camera for 200. This is working fairly well for now, but as I understand it, alkaline cells gradually fall off in voltage, rather than suddenly die as the mercury cells did, requiring periodic "recalibration".

I see on the site that there are ways to make your own resistor cell for use with the silver batteries. Is this the same as the "cris" adaptor (see www.criscam.com)? Does anyone use this adaptor, and if so, what are your results and how do you like it? I would prefer to purchase something like this rather than make my own, and I am trying to find out if the cris adaptor is legitimate.

I'm looking for a self-timer lever for a Nikkormat FT3. The FT2 lever appears to be identical, and I'd be happy with the metal FTn / FT one if it will fit (the camera is not in perfect condition so I'm not worried about maintaining the original appearance, merely function).

My battery cap won't lock either so I'd be interested in acquiring a new battery cap.

Hello.
I have a NIKOMAT EL, and I would like to know what kind of lens would fit on that body. Can I use any nikkor lens ? I have been told that I should use a "AIS" lens. What is it? Are they still manufactured ?
Thank you.
