Hi Lee: The URL link at the top of this message is a directory of camera repair services - hopefully you'll find one that's convenient for you. If you have a camera store in your area, they might also be able to recommend someone. rick :)=3. From : Lee (junherr@cox.net)

I own an Ft Nikomat that my wife gave me as a present in 1967. I'm having a problem for the past few years of not being able to remove my Nikkor 50mm lens, It's been stucked since that time. Would you be able to let me know where I can have this looked at and taken out? I live in southern California. Your help and any suggestion is highly appreciated. Thanks Lee junherr@cox.net4. Just a question. I have been doing digital photography now I would like to try manual film photography too. I have decided to look for a used SLR and recieved an offer to buy a Nikon FM. Since when I was doing digital photography works, I was mainly engaged in doing macro shots, I also want to perform this type of photography on film using Nikon FM maybe? I have read something on Mirror Lock-up. Is it really imperative I must have this feature in the SLR to be able to obtain sharp macro as well as zoom photographs?5. Hi Jason: The PX76 battery is available just about anywhere. Be sure to get a silver cell, as they also make this same size in alkaline. There are also other numbers for the same battery size: 357, 675 and 44 are all the same as the 76. Again, be sure you've got a silver cell. The Nikkormat FT2 doesn't indicate aperture in the viewfinder, only the shutter speed. If the speed readout doesn't match the ring on the front, this could be (and probably is) just an adjustment error in the viewfinder display: the scale in the finder is threaded onto a cord that goes across as you turn the speed ring.... it can slip and read incorrectly. I'd just ignore it unless it really bothers you.6. From : Jason (jason-thomas@wildmail.com)

I just found an old nikkormat F2 and am working on getting it operational. I have just a few questions: First does anyone know if you can find 1.5V PX76 batteries in conventional stores? Any suggestions... Second, the aperature setting displayed in the viewfinder is not the same as the setting displayed on the lens mount. The aperature displayed in the viewfinder is off by one stop. Is this problem simply mechanical? Will the problem affect metering or other operations? Any quick fixes?7. From : Robert Turner (robturner123@msn.com)

Here are a few answers bunched together: Terence, the FT3 shutter works without a battery. The battery is only to power the light meter.
Jeff, I can't think of a reason offhand. Does the aperture ring refuse to go to 32, or does it go there but the lens doesn't stop past 22 when it closes down? If the aperture ring won't go, maybe it's reached the limit of travel of the coupling pin thingie on the body. Do you have other lenses that stop to 32 okay on that body?
Dave, there's no trick: the B setting ought to work. The shutter may be dirty inside and not letting the B setting engage properly. rick :)=9. From : Terence (mercury@spiritone.com)

I just got my first Nikomat body. It is an early FTN model with metal film advance and self timer. I put a 55mm f/3.5 Micro Nikkor-P on the camera and I can only close it down to f//22. The lens will turn to f/32 when it is off of the camera or when I have the M2 ring in between the body and the lens by when it is on the body by itself it just won't close down to f/32. Am I mounting the lens incorrectly or is this normal for the combination of camera and lens I have described?
