NEIL J FORDE: "...Can anyone suggest where I can obtain a handbook? Much obliged. ..." in fact, there is already a handy insturction manual in this site, see: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikkormat/fseries/ft2/htmls/index.htm just print them out in hardcopies and save a couple of ten bucks because even used manual sells for USD15-25 a copy. If you cannot live without a copy, try: www.craigcamera.com or outlets such as the earlier posting by Randy B.: http://www.photobooksonline.com/index.html Good Luck.

http://www.photobooksonline.com/index.html This appears to be a great place to purchase repair manuals and perhaps original instruction manuals.

Hi, the flashmount on the top of my Nikkormat fell off, all the screws are loose and have fallen down inside the prism. I would like to try a self repair. Does anyone know the least invasive way to get the top off, recover the screws and remount the flash carrier? It is not obvious to me what has to be done to get the top off. Thanks

I HAVE NIKOMAT FTn WITH 50 MM, 105 MM, 200 MM, & 24 MM, LENSES.
IT ALSO HAS A AUTO TELEPLUS 2X. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT DOES. WHAT IS IT, & HOW DOES IT WORK? I'M NOT VERY GOOD WITH ALL THE SETTINGS. CAN I USE THE LENSES WITH A NEW AUTO FOCUS NIKON CAMERA? IS THIS SET UP WORTH MUCH?

I have a Nikkormat FT2, and haven't used it for a few years. It needs a good cleaning and repair.(I had brought it into a camera shop to ask about cleaning and it didn't work right after the guy looked at it.)I have used newer cameras recently but am missing the use of this FT2. Where would be a reliable place that could service this camera? Thanks, GA

Hi
The film speed selector lock pin on my FT3 is sheared off. The selector will now not stay in place. Can I fix this myself? Nikon Canada no longer services this camera. I relaize I probably will have to take the whole lens mounting assembly off. Anyone have a diagram of what the mechanism looks like, and the amount of difficulty involved?
Thanks
Ed

I am looking for a camera for my daughter. She is not quite a beginner, but definately not expert with a camera. She wants a manual camera, an older used model would be fine. Do you have any suggestions on a model that would be appropriate?
Thanks for any help.
Jami

Does your camera has a small emblem in front of the pentaprism housing and look like this ? http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikkormat/elseries/index.htm if they are, you can narrow it to electronic EL series (double confirm by a green "A" on the shutter speed setting; if your camera does not has either of these, it must be a mechanical FT series body: At the left hand side on top of the panel, next to the film rewind know and just next to the meter window (+/-); it has a Series number which may state as "FT3 xxxxxxx" (if it prints as "FT xxxxx" means your camera is a Nikkormat FT, "FT2 xx" means it is a FT2 and so on); it may help to identify the model of the cmera, also check this section if you don't understand the term I used here: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikkormat/fseries/ft2/htmls/map.htm
