What is it with this Nikon Nikkormats . Among Youngsters its a Hype and very trendy to walk around with this large monsters hanging around the necks In London and look smart dressed up in the 70 th way !of course i must admit i started it all(laughing),and my friends attitude to it is rather a> Must have it > ,than just rejecting it,so soon the price will rice(and i go 15 on stock..and he he..get rich),never mind, its a very fine camera, have a special carisma and take fine pictures, and I expect it will do so for many years ,conlusion>Nikkormat is very Comme il faut,in London at this moment !>>>>> Anna5. I have a nikkormat FTn and i was wondering if any one had a manual or a service manual for this camera. I got it from my father as a wedding gift and i don't know anything about it. And I have one problem also, while I'm taking pictures the film somtimes gets stuck does anyone know how to fix that. Thanks for all your help. Carl6. What i like so much about the Nikkormat cameras? 1.its steady hard bullet quality 2.you can see the finder on top of the camera,3.you can see the right exposures inside(much better than many other Nikons)4.an so on and so forth, theres actually no reason not to by one.Especially compared to the prices of the Nikon F and F2,not to mention F3.The Nikkormats are more or less easy to understand, the only thing is to correct the prong on the 5,6 F on the scale and turn upside down, once you have tried it,its easy.actullay there is no reason Not to buy one.
Even the flash is not critisable as i learned. So go ahead ! And become a Nikonholic like me,or NikkorMad.! Kind regards Christian Maldonado Fisker, Copenhagen Denmark.7. From : Mary Jane Andersson (Maryhasalittlelamb@hotmail.com)

I Just inherited a Nikkormat Ft-2 in nice Chromesilver edition from my aunt, and i already feel much more dedicated to this much more than my Canon Ixus digicam, which seems to be very crappy ,compared to The Nikkormat.. .....In short The Ft2 feels great;the sound ,mechanics e.q..you know...
My only troubles is which flash type should i choose ;? ..can anyone here tell what type ? ....Thanks !!

I have a Nikkormat FT2 which recently suffered a five-foot drop from a shelf. Depsite being in a soft case and landing on carpet, the camera received a nasty dent to the pentaprism. On checking for damage, I removed the lens. However, when I replaced it and tried to rack the aperture back and forth to set the maximum aperture, the aperture ring would only move between f/11 and f/16, effectively jamming the lens onto the body because it could not be turned far enough clockwise to remove it. The fault appears to be with the coupling on the body rather than on the lens itslef. I suspect that the camera is beyond repair, but before I abandon it as an expensive paperweight, does anybody have any suggestions regarding something I could do to a) remove the lens and b) get the meter coupling moving freely again? I love this camera and it would be a great shame not to use it again. Thanks.9. From : Pekka Harkkalainen (pekka@get2.net.fin)

Goodday !
I have used a Nikkoormat since the sixties and use a black Nikkormat FT 2 as well, both are still in excellent condition and at my job in the Finnish Forces we have used these pieces very hard often every day, they seems to be better the more they get used.
It is our true believe they are made for the purpose of proffessionals and the have made many many films and exposures
as the Finnish forces we dont have many money so we have NO plans whatsoever to buy new cameras at all !
May we congratulate Nikon and the Quality!
