My baby, my Nikkormat EL, was recently stolen and totally ruined, or so it seems. I recovered a shell of a camera with a punctured shutter curtain, self timer half cocked and jammed, and winding mechanism stripped. This camera has great sentimental value to me- Does anybody know whether such horrific abuse/damage can be repaired. Thanks for any input you can provide.

I have been using a Nikon F for years and of late have been reluctant to leave in the car as it's value has climbed. So today I bought a Nikkormat F3 for use as a "beater". Is there any fundamental diferences in the use of these two bodies? I have assuned that all my lenses will be interchangable. Most are Q's. Thanks for any help. Bob

Dear D. Ryan, you can safely use the EL-W's HTML instruction manual here in this site for your Nikkormat EL because the EL-W is identical to Nikkormat EL except at the base section, it has a motor drive coupling opening that made it possible to mount the dedicated power winder AW-1 for automatic film advance. Other than this, operationally - both bodies are the SAME !

I have owned my Nikkormat EL since 1978 and would rather relinquish any appendage on my body than this fine camera (well, ALMOST any..) I've kept it in good condition with frequent tune ups, but recently developed a problem with the frame counter- it is stuck at "36". Has anybody out there any experience in getting this repaired? What, praytell, is the approximate cost of same? Thanks for any feedback you can offer.

I am trying to find an AC power pak for a SB-21 ring flash. I recently purcased the ring flash but the company says they only have the DC pak.

I have a Nikkormat EL that I received after my Dad passed away. Though I am able to use it (load film, set f-stop, film speed, shuttter speed, etc.), there appear to be other features of the camera I have no idea what they are for. It is a fine camera, and I'd like to use it more. Does anyone know if there is an internet site, camera club, bookstore (old camera books) or other resource where I can get more information on the features and use of the Nikkormat EL? I'd also like to know if anyone can recommend a source for buying lenses and other equipment for the camera.

I used to own a Nikkormat FT3, but it was stolen years ago. I, also, owned a Nikon FM. It, also, was stolen at the same time as the other. I really miss having a SLR camera. I would really like to find another Nikkormat FT3....does anyone have a suggestions on maybe where I could find one??

I owns a Nikon F50 and Tamron 28-200mm. Does anyone know if the Tamron lense (AF "D-type") can be used in older camera models such as the NIKON Nikkormat EL ? This is because I'm thinking of getting a EL as a second body. Thanks.

I used to have a Nikkormat FT, but my ex-wife took it...
I want to get another one, and saw a cool black NIKOMAT FTn on an online auction for about USD200 - is this cheap? Is this expensive? Can anyone give me an idea? Am going to be ripped off?
Thanks
Julian
