Hi Ross: I'm not familiar with the AR2, but my Nikon F does not have a threaded hole in the SR button for a cable release: it uses a release with a cup-shaped end that threads on over a collar at the base of the release button. The Nikkormats should use a regular, generic cable release that threads into the hole in the shutter release button. :)=2. From : Ross Feickert (feickerr@yahoo.com)

Can anyone tell me if an AR-2 Shutter Release Cable, designed for Nikon F1 and F2 cameras will work on Nikkormats? I have an ELW I'd like to track down a shutter release cable for. Thanks.3. From : rick oleson (rick_oleson@yahoo.com)

I have a Nikkormat EL but can't find my owners manual. Would anyone be willing to copy theirs and sell me the copy? I would be grateful. Doug

Wein makes a zinc battery to replace the mercury batteries from the older bodies. I have used the Wein replacement cells for several years in my Nikkormat FTn. The one you want is the battery to replace the PX625 and PX13 mercury cells--Wein's number is MRB625. I find that the needle on the meter moves more sporadicly, but it works! Sam7. Hi Rick: Please click the above link for the approach I use to substitute Zinc/Air hearing aid batteries for the unavailable mercury cells. This works in the Nikkormat and most other cameras of that era, though there are a few makes whose electrical connections are positioned so that it doesn't work. Your mileage may vary, but I've been getting 6-8 months out of $1 battery this way. Voltage and meter accuracy is correct, no recalibration of the meter is required. rick :)=8. I need help finding replacement battery for NIKORMAT FTn. The battery in the camera doesn't have any numbers on it...in fact it looks like a small watch battery with a metal ring squeezed down over it to make it fit the camera. The Owner's Manual calls for a 1.3 Volt, Mercury battery. I don't think anyone makes mercury batteries anymore. Would appreciate any help!9. From : rick oleson (rick_oleson@yahoo.com)
