Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

As this site is specifically created for this purpose - so, please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you. Relating to Donation posted by Amy: I am not against idea of raising public fund for reconstructing an old temple (esp. at rural areas). The issue I am more concerned is, " ... Build staircase with two side Dragons up the hill needs Rm290,000; 2 Dragon heads cost Rm100,000 .... "; IF the temple only requires a facelift or reconditioning, why would it need a mini white elephant of a RM100,000 DRAGON heads in a temple's compound ? the two proposals are irrelevant to the basic objectives. Our Lord Buddha needs no dragon to go places. So, it looks more like creating exciting temple's feature to lure visitors in the future rather than serving basic need. RM400K is not a small amount, between creating a DRAGON and distributing needs to the poor at remote places sounds like a better usage on any possible funds raised.

Sorry. Amy - I think the whole idea is wrong (or at least, not convincing). I am happy to find enthusiasts like you girls, but practicing a good faith in Buddhism has many ways to do or execute it. In this case, I think you girls are getting too sentimental (probably after a visit). But why don't convince the committees take out anything that is not a necessity and post us a revised & more acceptable proposal ? Lastly, the post below by MR. DONATION on "local-temples need-HELP-too" makes pretty good sence and equally derserves our attention. READ. And you cannot blame others of suspicion of a scam.

Yalor, our temple here even more bad condition like wat meh liew. why not look after our own local temple first before looking after other people's temple? and with so few thai temple in KL, i think the upkeep and existence of kl temples should be first priority for us. sorry to phrase it this way.

Co-Moderator: Hmm… donation seeking over this message board is a new phenomenon. I think the more pertinent issue is how to prevent scamming/cheating and at the same time genuine causes are not sidelined. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry. Dear Amy and Members: You girls are doing something that is on good course. But I did a brief calculation, the entire cost comes to RM800K+. You are building one or re-construct one from scratch ? That is a huge task I would say. Personally (sorry) I felt this should be Thailand Buddhism Coucil duties rather than leaving it for individual to do so. Next, personaly I felt many local Buddhist Temples (regardless of Thai or Malaysian) also required re-construction. IF I have a choice, I would put our local temples on priority list. Lastly, it is difficult to convince people the donated such a huge sum and whether if the monies are going to put on good usage. Sorry to be that frank, but I think I have other opinion.

Suggestion: Why don't create a website, provide reasons, showing the current state of the temple and objective ?
