Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

alamak, you are my hero indeed.. but I am glad all these posts actually beneficial to a new brother here. Don't be shy (like Uncle W said). All of us are also at the mid of learning curve. If you have any question - just ask, we can try our best to offer / share a thought for it.

I am new. But I had read page by page of this GREAT message board. Tedious to go though the 1,600 + postings for a week or so, but I had learn a lot though. for the gentleman who asked "Hi to everyone....i would like to ask about chau kun chan or tan chau kun....kelantan...i very respect this monk....i would like to ask about his phra pitta got how many types make by himself?? and how much normally it will cost??can someone send his pitta photo for me and view thanks/!!!!"..

may be you shpuld also tried seek the message board via the search column. Bu all I can share is, the famous tample from Kelantan recently offered a batch of new Pidtta where some designated temples, shops are distributing via pre-booking. They are not expensive.

Another new forum huh ? I guess it has almost* similarities except it has a thread (some like or hate that kind of format - the most irritating part is one question can invites 15 unrelated single line answers and you have to click 15 times to find/filter the good ones). I read they had deleted all the pictures (for some reasons unspecified).

Well, I am quite comfortable here except if I want to pick on, it has not pictures to show. But I guess most of us won't like to have a good board clutters with sale/trade of amulets etc. Further, the main site is "controlled" by a single icon. As K.T. Said,l it would be nice if others can offer some kind of help in the site development. As most people can't create *good websites; So, if the offer is here for leo to create content from the materials submitted n, this seemingly has patched the vacuum. Actually, I would rather prefer the current state to be retained and assisted by this forum for topics where it interest us or provide a channel for other brothers to participate/ask/answers. Well, I guess more forums are better for Buddhism as a whole, further, not exactly everyone's interest/taste/preferences are the same. So, if this doesn't suit you, try another one, that is all. So far, this forum makes me very at home. The main site is a ahealthy Buddhist related materials, The assisted forum requires No registrations/memebership, NO user name, passwords to log in, the difference is - actually anyone doesn't requires the normal route to masuk and post a quick question. Ain't this a better way to invite those who may be starting a new journal in amulets collecting and/or spritual recourse ?

As most are too shy to ask... and prefer hides the true identity-lah. Here I would like to encourage anyone to ASK - because there is no Gurus here in front of the Mercy Eyes of Lord Buddha, everyone is a newbie (compare yourself to any monks who may had spent 20-30 years old seeking the path to a route). We have only things to share. So - Ask is no sin. Knowledge will gain.

Matts, here is a listing/directory to serve some of your request:

http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/leofoo/Thai-amulets/htmls/Listings.htm

However, creating some specific sites like those leo did on the various featured temples requires personal attendance to the locations, history, background and interesting features or interest of the temples. I guess it is not possible to address all but when it comes along, one by one will be featured. I guess it should be a collective effort rather than depending on leo alone to travel, shoot and compile the temples. May be some of you should try to perform these tasks and send the materials to leo to create a site of your interest. I am trying to offer my help too on a small temple that interests me now. What do you guys think ? For an example, info on Singapore locations are almost a "none". May be our Singaporean brothers can come forward to lend a hand in these development works..

Can I suggest the guru to add more info or leads to the local Buddhist temples? I think the "roadside" small locations can just ignore them. I am from Lahat, the temples I always go when go to Ipoh town was along the Tambun road. I do know Kedah (due to its geographical location near the Thai border, there have many temples too and hope some brothers can offer some leads. Next question, WHERE can i find places or shops that offer gold casing in IPOH or Kual Lumpur/PJ areas ?
