Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

In the world of Thai amulets, there are probably a few categories of Buddhist amulet users. One treats amulets as commodity and at the same time, wear, check and authenticate them for sheer leisure or like a hobbyist and double the role as collector. Another is simply accepting an amulet offered by others (friends or monk) but NOT buy. Third, you read, hear and wanted one as well, and you cough out cash to have one because you don know where to get. Each, depends on seriousness or inner desire will react differently in their respective approach. I am a mix and it is good to spend a little moment while you have nothing to do - THINK what makes you to wear an amulet on your neck....

I`m quite new to this message board, but looking back at recent message, there are quite a number of collector wishing to rent out their amulet.I think M`sian collector has`nt reach the standard of going to the level of owning antique amulet.(maybe no pro.to verify or too scared to purchased Fake ones even though they can afford it,or maybe the M`sian Buddhist are conservative, better to keep the money than the amulet.Hah-hah.)
If any fellow collector knows of any place in thailand, where ones can rent out their amulet, please let them know & at least we help them in their problem.TQ.May Buddha Bless You All.

I read the earlier post with utmost respect. But I guess in the world of amulet collecting, we often heard of legends or amazing stories. I personally have not witnessed one in real life. Probably no one wants this to be known by public too. But still, this is amazing to me. Peace. regards from JB.

Two Authentic Pim yai three figure Somdej Wat Prakaew amulets, made by Somdej Puttajarn during the reign of King Rama v 130 years ago. It is believed that only 10 pieces are existing, still partially coated with ancient gold.Look gorgeous!!! represent the birth, enlightment and death of Lord Buddha. It is so rare that its value was estimated in BKK at 56 million baht.Impossible to sell it at that price, for the owners of the remaining 8 amulets won't come forward to offer comparison for it. Willing to sell it at a starting price of 5 million each. Anyone interested in this breath taking amulets?
More information to serious collectors. Might peace of mind be with you all.

On and off kind of experience. Night time is bad from Malacca. CNN like a snail. I have asked a friend in BKK to check the new soomdej at wat inn. Only not many left (was told). That looks like a good soomdej.

Hey.. lately, the line is very slow for internet connection. Came back from Koh Samui. Hardly seen any temples there at the beach front tourist spots. This place is getting real commercial- spoilt by tourists.

Greetings--

I just wanted to THANK YOU!! for the Nang Kwak collection displayed on here in particular! I bought a statue (after being truly fascinated with her saucy yet compassionate image of beauty) in the Chicago neighborhood of Argyle Ave. (also known as 'Little Saigon' though there are many people of Thai, Viet, Hmong, Indonesian etc. origin there). There was not much explanation, except that her name was something like this, and that she 'pulls in customers'.

Now I have Her name and can do more research at last. Thank you!!
