Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook |
Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. The Reverend Phra Maha Sivali is the Head of all Recipient. In one of the stories in the Jataka, when the horde of Reverends were wandering into a area of wilderness, one of the Reverend spoke quietly to the Buddha that there is no household around, where would the alms come from? The Buddha pointing to Phra Maha Sivali was said to have said that with the Maha Sivali around, we have nothing to worry. True to the Buddha's words, a horde of householder turned up athe right time when the wandering Sangha was about to recive heir alms.
Phra Sivali brings manuy good things to people who prayed to him:
Sivali, ca Maha Thero, Lapang Lapho Bhavantu Me
Sivali, ca Maha Thero, Lapang Lapho Bhavantu Me
Sivali, ca Maha Thero, Lapang Lapho Bhavantu Me

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Dharma,
While we all appreciate the great, beautiful and yet, powerful buddhist amulets created by the members of the Maha Sangha, the community of monks, let us not forget our commitment to our Lord Buddha, to practise and to walk on the Noble Eightfold Path in order to cease all suffering and to seek true happiness, Nibbana.
On this auspicious day, the Wesak full moon day of May, marks the birth, enlightenment and passing away of our Lord to Nibbana, let the day remind us all that Life Is Uncertain But Death Is Certain. As such, we must continue to work hard to cultivate good merits in order to free ourselves from this suffering world and to achieve inner peace and happiness.
HAPPY WESAK 2009
Metta ca Karuna,
Stan Thong-Penang
