Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook |
Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

Hello... nice site and friendly board. I am a Korean who spent the last 12 years worked in Chon Buri district. I am retired now and I am using a Somdet given to me by a Thai colleage (my wife has a nan phaya) 8 years ago. I studied in US when I was young and back in homeland, christianity is the main religion. But living in Thailand cannot separates Buddihism. So, amulets bring special memory to the good days I spent there, the Thai are very friendly people and it has great tradition of high values in Buddhism. Recently, I have heard many stories about faked amulets and it is a pity to learn they were produced in Thailand as well. Perhaps, time has changed. Anyway, just wish to share my thought. Hi, I am in England a part with a curios history and have a curiosity relating to the Amulet tradition. We have a near tradition here with small medallions that are also hard to date and vary in quality etc. Most contain small pictures and on some occasions small fragments of a white substance which I have no information on. They are so similar to yours in many ways. Some contain just letters arranged either in circles or crosses etc. I believe they may well be linked to your tradition in some striking way. Often they have small pictures of figures on the back. Very similar you may agree! The tradition here may date back to pre 800 bc as we say. I believe I may have some interesting view points on the subject. I also like to say that I have read a very interesting book by an Author called Deng Ming Dao and it was very interesting. It often stirred me into a nice poetic mood. With wonderful notes and observations of nature. It was written in English but translated very well.1973. I was referred by my friend, Saprianto earlier. Been to this site a few months ago but the site has now expanded into such a huge scale, simply a marvelous effort. Mr. LK, do you have a shop address (if you have) or simply those are your personal possessions. May be when I go to Singapore, I can take a look (I prefer shop display, less stressful on obligation to buy or not to, haha...). My mail is behaving strangely, pls use the board to reply.1978. Prices are very fair and just indeed (cursing my friends in Singapore...as I paid much much higher - don't mention about it..). Back here in Jakarta Pusat, there are very few Thai temples but as I said earlier in previous posting, I have found a few common friends (Indo-Chinese). May be this site is a good medium to bridge all amulets lovers together. Cheers and thanks, Mr. Purt.1980.
