Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. Dear Uncle, it took a while for me to read line by line of your few posts to finally understand what exactly are you trying to convey in your messages too. I guess that was why Purt felt a little uncomfortable. No, dear Purt, he doesn't mean anything but simply becoz' you are in the amulets trades and thought he is referring to you. I guess he is referring to "SOME" irresponsible and NOT all the traders.

Dear Purt, I don't mean anything at all. It is just a personal thought (but what I said earlier - I am not referring to you) but rather, referring to many of the dis honest amulets traders, that is all. Personally, you have a very good and knowledgeable website for beginners on amulet collecting as well as some top quality collectibles. Further, at least you are using the web channel properly to convey some good messages.

Not many traders are like you. Some spots in Bangkok and Hadtyai sold some pieces to my friends with diamond and rare earth stones (paid thousands) and ended up you can find the same in Pudu Plaza for less than RMY80-00. Probably you are not aware of the world outside your premises. As I said, there are bound to have a few rotten apples in the business. BUT again, I am not referring anything and don't recall anything I wrote that has offended you, brother, take it easy-man. Okay ?

Peace.

Dear Uncle Wong, with respect and attitude.

Not sensitive at all uncle and not soft spot too, nothing emotional. I honestly just wonder. Because it is greedy, that's all, but i meet many best monks like father and many good elder brothers as Thai and as dealers too, well chinese too, many nice Dharma chinese brothers visit me. Don't type to me so much uncle, -_-" i'm tried. I like relax.

My elders and masters never make Dharma sound so complicate, i see only a dealer with no righteous in heart, honest not from heart, but honest for money, and that's all from my meaning uncle Wong. Now it is your lesson, i accept and greatful. Maybe i shouldn't post anythings sound sensitive or softspot in this message board.

But please, with all respect as you're elder.
Regards, Purt

haha ..brother, don't be so sensitive, okay. Whatever it is, there are bound to have few rotten apples in any trades. The only thing that always bother me is the way things are interpreting. You can't deny Many (not most) Thai folks like to add hell of a premium to an amulet. Amulets is NOT entirely a commodity but they are a medium for us to bridge th spritual side of my soul. Not many people in the business have a soft spot in their heart (like you?).

Adding premium to a possession is fine because you don't want to sell your prized possession and it is a nice way to "reject an attempt" to get the things you like away from you but if you do it the extreme like adding tens of thousand and million on a piece then you are not conveying the true spirit on why an amulet should be serve its original purpose. The Gurus who has created them probably had no such original intention to convert them as a commodity for followers. But as long there is a demand, they will be supply. That is fine I supposed as no one wants to give away amulets to STRANGERS for free. Even many Thai temples today also put a small price tag on amulets they distribute because the intention is to raise fund for maintenance or helping another public welfare / system in the society that needs help. So, trading amulets is also okay with me because it is a solution provider to serve people in needs of such medium of getting close to our Lord Buddha and reminds us his teachings. Well, you have to understand there are plenty of fake too. Probably these guys have spoilt the image of the industry in the trade as a whole. It leaves to the good trader to revert the negative. Thanks for understanding from our perspective.

Thanks to all for being so helpful and nice to reply to me, Thanks Uncle Wong, Purt I am really impressed with you guys and this website. I am just trying to know and learn more. I do not know much / any...Thanks to all for willing to share the knowledge with me and guidance !

Dear Uncle Wong Can I know more about the great Five (Benchaphakhi or Benjapakee" set of Thailand Amulets? And is there any offerings or etc we should do for our amulets. I am so sorry ...I really do not know much.

Thanks, Lilian

Dear Mr Purt I am OK with dealers. But just do not know which dealer is trustworthy. Maybe I do not even know how to see a fake and real. that why I hope to learn and know more... I read and understand that there are many "factory made" amulets. So just hope to find a good dealer. where is your shop ?

Thanks Lilian Have a Good day to all of you ..
