Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Bro. Daniel: As mentioned by Bro. Tony, you need to open up the takrut in order to ascertain the creator of the takrut. Just to share with you a story of a friend of mine and Bro. Tony where he managed to get Ah Kong Than Chao Khun Kesaro Chan's brother, Atuk to confirm that the takrut was written by his brother.
He overjoyed when Atuk mentioned "Ini Abang Punya" when he opened up the takrut and only Atuk knows how to close back the takrut with Ah Kong & Tok Raja special prayers. That was indeed, his lucky day. Stan

Dear Daniel,
Is the name of the temple Wat UTTAMARAMYANMUNI? If so than its the branch of Wat Uttamaram. The present abbot is Than Thong from Kelantan.About the takrut whether its made by Than Mit or not I have no idea unless you open it to see the hand writing.
For your information the late Than Mit is TRaja diciples and also his nephew. He did make the takruts,TRaja amulets and phra pidtas

Metta Tony

from Co-Maintainer: In addtition to what Bro. Stan has said, it is very important that you are able to verify the authenticity of any amulet by yourself, especially older and highly collectible ones. Don't anyhow rely on hearsay about so and so because you are only going to get cheated if you do so. This hobby is not as straight forward as collecting watches or stamps, so better learn about the amulet and the market price before buying.

I just visited the WAT at chua chu kang . Maybe is tok raja blessings, one of the helpers discovered some takruts left by late abbot. He claimed that the late abbot was a disciple of tok raja and thus used to create takruts when he was alive.
The takrut is copper foil and heavy.
Does anyone here can verify this issue? i fear of getting fakes.

From Co-Maintainer: I think Bro Stan Thong can advice on this..

I recently rented in Bangkok a jade green glaze Khunpaen. It has something inscribed on bottom back. The arms of the Buddha are rounded and the hads are touching. Is anyone familiar with this Khunpaen? I would like to know if it authentic.

Co-Maintainer (Tan KH) - Hello Regan, please email me the photos on this amulet. I will help you check it out. My email is available as shown below. Thanks

Wat Uttamaram is in Repek, Pasir Mas. It's along the way to Sg. Kolok from Kota Bharu. From this road, follow the sign to Pasir Mas and you'll have to cross an old stone bridge in the middle of padi fields along a dirt track...quite a hulu place. Ask the Malay villagers along the way if not sure, they will guide you to the temple.

regards
