Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook |
Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

I need information on a statue of a Thai buddha that I recently aquired. If someone could email me, I will reply with a picture of the statue and maybe we can narrow down a history of it. The orig. owner passed away, and I bought it at an auction of the estate. Thanks for your time. sheri1455. From : PP KIm (nospam@nomail.com)

OM. Thang: That neclace was handmade by my friend Weerapong (Srivichai). The few coloured beads have their respective origin (as to their origin, referred back to that page at http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/leofoo/Thai-amulets/weerapong/index4.htm , I have translated it & he told me the raw stone are left few only). Actually I am askig him to make another one that can put three amulets but may take another few months.., even the polishing from stones to round beads is by hand at home). Anyway, I am not sure if he can do one (and how much would one of that cost). ) He can be contacted via Mr. Weerapong Srivichai® <weerapong_srivichai@yahoo.com> (Tel: +66(0)66569515 / +6694313989). He is still learning the internet, so, I am not sure if his email works (I opened for him in Chiangmai but we often communicate more via Phones). Call him when you are in Chiang Mai - I would say, if NOT for possible friend in the making, but GREAT local guide (also ask him to bring you to see another friend of mine (Tongkam) http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/leofoo/Thai-amulets/weerapong/index.htm
WHY ? (PRIVATE (haha..) superlative grade (but very worthy) of Myanmar gem stones that "got" in from the private miners across the border for private consumption, hehe... ...but Thai taste is a little different from Chinese.
