Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Hi again. I visit your blog from time to time and as usual, always interesting. I was just reading the introduction where you spoke of how your blog came into being -- due to your friendship with an elderly Thai person and how he has been visiting you and offering you his amulets etc. Very interesting story that! Thanks for sharing with us.

I came to this site searching for Wat Suthat and am very impressed by the detail you've provided. I plan to delve further into other locations that you have posted! I also appreciate your views on Buddhism (and religion in general) for its broad- and open-mindedness.

Although I am not particularly interested in the amulets information, I much respect the depth of your engagement and, of course, I have my own which is the 18 lohan (and related figures) as found in (Chinese) Buddhist temples!

Of course, I am also on the trail of "Burmese" pagodas elsewhere than in Myanmar: so far I know of ones in Malaysia, Singapore, and Ching Mai--so if "anyone" has further information on these and others, I'd appreciate further tips!

Hi I purchased a Buddha amulet in NY. I felt the amazing energy tried to find out where it was coming from and it was the amulet that I ended up purchasing. The lady I got it from said that it's from a very special person but I can't tell you who he is. Would I be able to send a picture and maybe somebody can tell me something about. Thanks in advance.

David

Hello I enjoy reading your site, I am a foreigner living in Ayutthaya and wish to buy an old Amulate Phra Mahesuan. I am not an expert and am inexperienced at finding a reputable place to buy. I hear many different opinions from many different people, do you have any ideas where I may be able to buy please? I have a Phra Kong Amulate which many people tell is very old maybe 700 years which I never take off and treasure it very much. Thank You.

I have bought many miniature/small/medium sized Thai Buddha over the years (currently possess over 100) from the perspective that I liked them and not necessarily that they were authentic. Some I know are not but others I really don't have a clue about. I have now moved to Thailand and wanted to get them appraised. Knowing Thailand as I now do I am mindful, because of my lack of knowledge, that I may just get given misleading advice or get an offer to purchase which may not be what they are worth. How can I find a reputable Thai appraiser. Anyone any ideas? I live in Banglamung.

I were being offered a Somdej that made of elephant bone from a friends' friend. The Somdej amulet were cased with a kind of light yellowish liquid or oil. The front of the bone were carved with Somdej image and behind were filled with holes which I guess is the bone marrows. He told me that this were blessed by Luang Phor Rod of Phitsanulok province. Is it possible that an amulet were being made from animal bone, some more is elephant bone? Kindly advice.

Thank you.
