Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

As this site is specifically created for this purpose - so, please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you. http://www.geocities.com/thai_pendants/legendary_lp_thuat.htm

Maker of King of Butterflies Pendant ? Actually, the temple name is Wat Pah Mahawan, Nakhon Ratchasima province but exact address is not known. However, the best person to ask for the address is Purt (www.thailandamulets.com email:purt@thailandamulets.com) as he once posted a message here stating he is one of the official distributor for the temple's Pendants. If you are in Singapore, try to ask the distributor of the Butterfly pendants in Singapore http://www.flssimianfo.com.sg/Krubastory.htm
Here is another related info:
http://www.thai-amulets.com/view_monk.php?monk=LP%20Kruba%20Kritsana%20Intawanno
Purt's site on the temple's products: http://www.thailandamulets.com/webpage/aboutkingofbutterfly.htm so far, this is the best write-up on the King of Butterfly Amulets (Phra Kruba Krissana Intawanno). That was an effort which stated came with a little help from our patron of the message board (Brother Stan Thong) I guess.

Thailand is a land of many contradictions. Coupled with the beauty of the Buddhist philosophy, it has a sponge like quality. The beauty of Buddhism is that you are the owner of karmic action. Good and straight Guru monks would continue to make amulets for general good in spite of the less than savoury testing methods. I don't agree with them and can't stop them either. Metta, Karuna and Muditta.

Frankly speaking, I have heard too much stories on these kind of violence conduct too. But shooting a cow, sheep just to try out an amulet to see if it has some "power" in it is not a true Buddhist bahaviour. If the guru who has made all those creations knew a life form has to sacrifice just for that purpose - I think probably he might be regreting in making them lah.....peace.

More than 10 years ago, after a holy consecration of the Somdej Wat Pak Nam Batch 6, it was rumoured that someone tested the quality of the amulet by placing the amulet on a buffalo and then shooting it with a M16 rifle. The buffalo survived the shooting and this led to a stampede in Wat Pak Nam to try and rent one.

I agree with YKT that as a result of the pendant craze, the Great LP Sodh's teaching on Dhammakay mediation is overlooked.

The four faced Buddha was officially being re-opened on 21th May 2006 with a replenished unit which was being smashed back on 21st March, 2006 (kind of sensitive due to its nature / cause on the background). May be that was why you missed it during your last trip between late March to 21th May this year which took exactly 2 months to repair (due to this is one of the most visited tourist hot spot and the cause news/reports was sealed or censored because to avoid racial disturbance, I guess). Further, the Thai government (with appointment of one of the six deputy prime minister overseeing the progress) who has comissioned a team comprised of top Thai religious artists to relaminate the broken pieces back to its original state (it is not a new statue, reconsctuct based on the old statue).
