Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. i can understand why michaell have double and double check for the amulet he get from www.thai-amulet.com . He pay 145-150 pound which around us $300. For 25 Sattawat , they sell 40 poundsterling which almost $80, where you can get only around Sin $$20-30 in singapore. Very expensive site.
For smaller version of the same amulet, you can get around Sin $$180. www.antares.sg

The power of the amulet still there, just re bless it if you have doubts. Only some lay people who have strong meditate power or biksu can check it. http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Teahouse/1428/index.html

Some online site which still sell reasonable price: www.billionmore.com or www.antares.sg .
I'm no part or try to promote any above that site.
If any of you have some good site, please publish it and we can share our hobby and still get reasonable price.

Wah... can simply feel "power" by holding an amulet in the hand? That is good. Try not to think that way how to verify an amulet. I used to gave a way a 20+ years old collection and a good / old amulet to a lady friend. Some guys also told her that way, I fedup and ask her to gave the amulet back to me. Simply because there is no purpose anymore when the owner has a doubt in her mind. I have not met her friends, but that was not the purpose why we gave away an amulet, we simply want them to be blessed, protected and prosperous in her well being. There is no such thing as MORE POWER in the Buddhist world. The difference is just the perception. IF you believe in something, usually in the amulet world means "COUGH" and not just paying for more $$$ for it. Sorry to be so direct and I think your original intention is to acquire an amulet for self usage and WHY bother what others claimed "what's-inside" the acquired piece ? Further, do you actually think there will be "power" by simply holding one in your hand ? don't be, my friend.

Collecting amulets is a very stressful hobby. I wouldn't expect the top and most rare quality of images as few of us would be able to own or even see. So, this middle of the road approach is most suitable for your site. Inside you can find some top quality amulets as well as good entry level pieces (very good) for cater for beginners. The perspective in evaluating an amulets is also very neutral and practical. The leads to some of the most interesting Buddhist destinations are simply one good factor (even for educational merits) that separates this site from most of the others on the web. And I enjoy my visits throughout. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and energy in making all these possible.

With regards from Bintulu.

The version looks like as the later (newer) version as older images has no wordings at the rear section (I guess those from 1982 onwards had). The cross hands and the basic form seemingly like being made with the same mold by Aechan Prueang, produced in 2515. May be other brothers can provide an opinion. Same with other famous amulets/medallion or Roop Lor (cast mini-statue such as this) older Luang Phor Ngern are very expensive. Leo has a page on this, some of them are very old/rare indeed: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/leofoo/Thai-amulets/leofoo/htmls/index1.htm

I like his larger statue too: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/leofoo/Thai-amulets/statue/index5.htm

Hi ka man,

A fairly senior Monk which I go to often in Wat Pho comes from the same province as LP Ngern - in Pichit. LP Ngern's pendant is a small round figurine of the good LP made of metal, thus fairly heavy. LP Ngern's amulets are famous for many things including protection from fire arms and also brings wealth to the wearer - Ngern means Silver literally.

According to the LP of Wat Pho, LP Ngern's mulets cost as much as 100,000 baht. So good luck.

WAT Arun + LP Negrn. Sounds like you are buying from the amulet traders at or around the temple premises as Wat Arun doesn't produce LP Negrn at all (or may be I am not aware of). Blessing is done during the amulet producing process. It can be very hard just to base on a post at the message board to just provide an opinion or verify it (even someone is knowledgeable to help). So, I would suggest you try to take a photo of it (front and back) and post it at a free image site to let other brothers to provide you with an opinion. Mr. Purt should be able to help, he has a fairly large collection of LP Negrn for sale.
