Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. Bro Hoon, Thanks for the infor. Maybe i wont jot it down at the moment, but i m sure i will ask you again in the future if i m dropping by bangkok. Hope you dont mind. The way the goldsmith here case the amulet is conventional. I think they will send for plastic casing and then just wrap the side up with gold. I havent asked the price here yet. I still prefer the open type like what you mentioned earlier with open case type but of gold frame. Merrrry X'Masss and Happy Neeew YeAAR. Hope this site will grow and convey the amulet infor to all the hobbyist.

Hi Jimmy,

I found the amulet casing done in Singapore rather expensive. If you are going to Bangkok in Feb, pls contact me and I'd give you a few places you can try. When 916 gold price was about $22, I used to do casings of Somdej amulets at most 2500 baht (S$100) and Phra Somdej Wat Paknam at 1500 baht. The price of gold had gone up quite a fair bit and hence would probably cost more but definitely less than the S$400-500 in Fu Lu Shou. In Bangkok, for Somdej amulets with open backs ie plastic back with gold casing windows that allow you to view the back of the amulet, these are cheaper.

In Bangkok, you send in your amulet, most of the time you get it back within the hour. On the street of Yaowaraj (Chinatown) there are about 20 goldshop that can do the casing. If you stay in town, there are also many in Mah Boon Krung shopping centre. I used the shop on level 3 facing the elevator for many years now.

Happy casing and happy holiday.

Hi Albert think it was 500 plus....there was another slightly smaller casing and that costs 300 to 400 plus. i did it in .916 Gold. will be heading down BKK this Feb, will enquire about the prices there and see if its much cheaper. some of the silver casings i saw at Fu Lu Shou looks really fabulous.

I enjoy the molding section very much. I knew amulets are done this way, but never actually see or realize who the molds look like, thanks for sharing, leo (& weerapong).

I notice the change of the local temple link at the front page. GOOD ! p.s. I always think local locations should be given more exposure as they are nearer to out neighborhood to serve the community.
