Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook |
Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

Hi Albert, I am not quite an expert on authentification but can tell real of fake ones in some of the more common amulets. However, the older and harder to find amulets are difficult to tell. Being in Singapore I go to Bangkok several times a year. Let me know what you need or desire and I try to get the amulets from the source, usually the temples itself for you.
For Phra Pid Ta, Tok Raja is very good and hard to get but in recent times ie in the last 20 years of so, Luang Phu Tok of Wat Paduchimpee is very popular too. I know of 2 batch "Lun Jumbo" and "Lun Poknee". Jumbo is as the name say, big size Phra Pidta and Pok Nee is smaller and dark in colour. You can see many shops and household honouring LP tok's picture with King Bhumibol holding him. I have an original Phra Pidta Lun Poknee given to me by a friend many years back. He stayed near Wat Paduchimpee and gave me the Pidta still in original casing. He told me that Pok Nee in Thai means for Phra Pidta Maha Lap ie Phra Pidta to help source fortune to help you settle all your debts. LP Tok is also famous for his Phra Somdej Chun Doo Hwan. It is so named because when the Korean Prime Minister was saved from an assassination attempt on him in Yangon because he had the Somdej from LP Tok given to him by Princess Sririndorn when he visited Bkk. Chun was uncomfortable leaving his hotel room and arrive late only to live. Chun is now a monk in South Korea.
LP Tok is held in very high regard by the royal family.793. From : Y.K.T. (yappie_mouse@somewhereHOO.com)

Dear Leo, I followed the link, yeap. Learn something too. By the way, are you aware th site Siam-amulet.com has CURI (borrowed) many of your pictures for their sale site ? For an example,
http://www.siam-amulets.com/reliquaries.htm
http://www.siam-amulets.com/benjapakee.htm
Thye Katha Section was also copied from else where lah. He should credit you (or at least mentioned it is not theirs because they are selling a product and mislead others to think theirs are very high quality, right ?), if not of your khun Paen, I won't notice it.797. I discovered this yahoo auction and I saw many many amulets which some of them i have never seen before. I am thinking to buy a phra pidta which is good for business. (or should i follow what kakaman said, 1 good amulet is enough, rather than wearing 3 or 5 or 7)hahaha....NO OFFENCE, Bro KAKAMAN. Talking about the auction site, i dunno how to prove it is genuine and iz sometime hard to believe the seller. Sigh.... what is selling in kuching also dunno whether iz fake or good. Actually, what i want is very simple. I dun mind whether the amulet is old or new, but have to be genuine piece and chanted by the true Arjan.
