Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook
Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

Dear Brothers & Sisters in the Dharma, As part of the CUTI-CUTI MALAYSIA programme (Visit Malaysia programme) and if you managed to spend sometime in Penang, I would suggest that you bring along your Buddhist amulets to be authenticated and bless by the current Chief Monk of Wat Buppharam in Penang. He specialised in Tok Raja & Ah Kong amulets and other Buddhist amulets from Kelantan temples such as Than Lek, Phra Kru Daeng, Than Noon to name a few. Enjoy... Metta, Stan Thong1472. First, to read a foreigner asked, I would think existence of this site has served part of its basic objective. But I wouldn't encourage anyone to think amulets are for wealth and good luck. Basically, you must establish faith in Lord Buddha first. Amulets are meant for the faithful ones to carry one of this faith beside you, wherever you go. The "lick", good fortune and protection will come along naturally and depend much on how strong is your belief you have "inside". I know the bitter episode of faked stuffs has created the damage (I am glad too mr leofoo has still retaining the earlier exchanges in this web board for others to evaluate and think further of this possibility). Remember these are showcases of various forms to let others have an introduction to this specific subject - after reading all the explanations and I don't think leofoo has any ill intention by creating this showcase). Well, this is part of human weakness as he stated, but think differently from another perspective, Buddhism is not all about wearing an amulet on your neck. Self discipline counts and it is a supplement form. I am a believer and reasonably a good Buddhist and I wish the introduction of amulets site can leads the way for others to start have a look at Buddhism to patch darker/weaker side of our minds, we need ritual and mental strength at times, don't we ?
So, for you to ask is perfectly all right but you have to begin in thinking where to begin from here as well. May the loving care and tender heart of Lord be with you and your family all the times. Metta, T.S. Wong.1473. From : YKT (email@example.com)

To brothers and friends. Sure and Thank you brother Thong, You're welcome to Korat. i'll write share of my experience in amulets.
Start when i did practice sitting meditation (Lp.Mun's way), and my father teach me to repeat "Na-Mo-Putt-Ta-Ya" in mind while hold amulets, and that's when amulets shaking hard like spark but not hurt in my hand. Ok, that's about power of amulets.
When we talk about Partiharn(Miracle),Sure that many people have experiece somethings by their own sense. Some call faith and some call coincidence. But some people will start to discuss, and some don't believe and say disrespect words. That's when they start to conduct bad karma. That's why Lord Buddha teaching is not to say things like this, it is (Pa-Chud-Thung) mean to know from your own. It is things that's good to see, but not to hear. But for acception, in this message board and friends i know. They do have faith in Lord Buddha and amulets which bless them in many way, people who interest in this way most are good mind people. I'm sure we can freely talk about this here. There are many place to practice sitting meditation. Lp.Jarun said to have "Wat" in your mind all the time, and that's it. Buddha bless you all. Regard, Purt (Ps. http://www.thailandamulets.com/webpage/monkstory.htm) i'll keep update.)1476. From : yeappie (firstname.lastname@example.org)

First posting on this board. Just to share a personal experience during my college days at USM. I was out drinking in Butterworth and returned to USM campus around 1:00AM on my scooter. I hit the the road median/divider at the Butterworth ferry terminal and fell off my bike. My glasses and helmet were badly scratched and my face and left side of my body were badly cut and bruised. Without the helmet, I would not be alive today. My whole body felt numb and I was unable to move. A passerby helped me up. After a short while, sensation came back and I as able to move. When I reached home, I took out my chain and noticed that my Khun Paen was missing (I was wearing my chain with LP Thuad, Khun Paen and a Somdej). I immediately returned to the accident site to search for my Khun Paen but never found it. It is strange that I had 3 amulets securely fastened to my chain yet one went missing. I later conveyed the story to an old Siamese lady (who gave me that Khun Paen before I went to USM). She told me the Khun Paen "had exchaged" itself for my life that night. I have another Khun Paen with me now (given to me by the grandson of that old Siamese lady and it looks similar to the one I lost).
FYI: I am orignally from Kota Bharu, Kelantan and have a small collection of amulets and pendants from Wat Uttamaram (Tok Raja and Than Chow Khun Chan).1477. From : Morgan Bonsse (email@example.com)

Pangie: You need to provide more information as to where you are residing and hopefully, members of the forum here could help you.
Purt: You have improved your website tremendously, great job! Your latest information about LuangPu Hong is very interesting. He is one of the most respected monks in Thailand. I would surely want to plan to visit Wat Petbhuri in Surin Province one day since LuangPu Hong is now 96 years old! I don't think I can live that old and still healthy. Truly, a blessed monk indeed.
Raymond Chong: Welcome to MIR website on Buddhist Imageries. During my younger days, I was groomed and educated under the Sri Lanka Buddhist tradition and at that point in time, I have never been serious about Buddhist Amulet until one day, a miracle happened where I was unhurt from a terrible accident, fire caused by diesel leakages. A Taoist medium (in trance), who has no knowledge about me, told my grandma(a Taoist) that I was saved by the amulet that I wore at that time. This nice amulet(since I am a Sri Lanka Theravada Buddhist practitioner and never treat amulet seriously) was given to me by my Mom's friend. The amulet, as the matter of fact, is the famous Luang Phor Thuad. My faith in Buddhist amulets become stronger as I could recalled during the accident occur, there was a force that lifted by body away from the fire that saved me from being burned.
Raymond, it would be great if you could share with us your experiences with buddhist amulets besides been a collector. Same goes to Pangie, Purt, Donald, Yrald and other members of this wonderful forum.
