Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook |
Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

For Chris: Chris that batch is either the 1st batch or a fake. There is no lacquer on the 3rd batch pieces. Well i have not enough experience to judge in case of WPN but what i know is that piece in this condition is almost impossible to find. There are absolutely 2 brilliant Thai sites where people put pictures of their amulets for to be approved. There is one trouble though - i haven't been able to register by now and that is necessary for sending pictures. They just don't respond. The sites are:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Dhamma,
Wesak Day is the holiest of all Buddhist holy days - marks the birth, enlightenment and final passing away of the Buddha.
The Buddha was born as Prince Siddharta Gautama on a full moon day in the month of Wesak (month of May in present day calendar) in 623 BC.
Siddharta began his search for enlightenment at age 29 and after six years realized the eternal truth, thus becoming the Buddha - which means the Awakened One. This auspicious event took place at dawn in the month of Wesak in 588 BC, which was also a full moon day.
The Buddha taught the truth for 45 years until his final passing away into Nirvana on a full moon day in 543 BC.
Thus, all the three major events in the Buddha's life happened on a full moon day in the month of Wesak.
As such Buddhists of all traditions throughout the world celebrate this thrice-blessed day.
Wesak day is celebrated on May 12, this Friday and in Penang, we are pleased to able to invite a number of great monks
from other states in Malaysia as well as Thailand to celebrate this auspicious day with us.
I would like to wish all of you a peaceful and happy Wesak.
May the blessings of the Triple Gem(Buddha, Dharma and Sangha) be with you and your family always.
SADHU! SADHU! SADHU!
Metta,
