Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook

Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

Dear Nickson: In relation to your question, I think I can safely answer on behalf it is a "yes". I have been trying to let Wichien understand how to find a good compromise between a deep passion and logical thinking. The main issue is, at 78, age is gradually cathing up with him and there can be a better way to see the thousands of Amulets with him go to rightful hands who may has the strong desire to own one of those within his collections. Further, with a right balance of an "in & out" - probably he may even enjoy more with any new acquires even if seeing his older collection are going out. But few doesn't understand - One of his strength is, he knows how to identify which are the "good" ones and has his own ability to perform ritual chanting even for out going pieces. He seemed to be accepting my idea but somehow he treats his collections with utmost respect. He is a simple man and only has a sole hobby throughout his life that has cherished during his services at the temple. Please don't fool him around as even if he didn't tell me but I knew of two intances he has been misled to search temples around borders to entertain phone requests but the people who phoned earlier have been avoiding his calls later. In some ways, even the money involed is not significant but I felt a little guilty of dragging him into such an exposure on the web where originally I thought it can help him to expand his social circle beyond what he has. Whatever it is, I have told him how to deal with phone enquiries now.

Dear sir, I know you have specified in the site clearly that personal collection of your amulets are not meant for sale. But just a simple question, does Mr. Wichian like to consider disposing some of his private collection ? I don't speak a word of Hokkien so, can you ask a question on behalf for me ?? Thanks in advance.

The graphic display of images in this site is simply awesome ! I think the option of providing a secondary explosive view for each image is very thoughful and worth the slower download time it takes to load. Hope to see you can keep the site running with more updates in the future, Best Regards from a small cottage in China Town, NY.

Hello. I'd really like your website and have been checking all the images & pages repeatedly for the last few days. I am glad that you are commited in keep-on updating them (I notice there are quite a few new inclusions as well, very nice...). In relation to Mr. Wichhine's new Page 5, the LP Parn's tiger tooth - how to identify whether it was made by LP Parn ? I have seen a few of these teeths selling at the Pudu Plaza but I cannot differenciate them. Thanks in advance for answering (please use the board to reply).

With regards to the few LP Ngern amulets your friend got from a goldsmith shop, I have seen the same ones for rent at a goldsmith shop in a popular shopping complex in BKK not too long ago. The resemble the ones you have posted on your website. On asking the dealer, he said that these are newly made amulets from LP Ngern's Wat Bangklan and it's a few years old. Althought it is not blessed by LP Ngern himself, for as long as it's been blessed by the Sangha, it will accord the same protection to the wearer as a prized Somdej Wat Rakhang would. Just my 2 cents, hope others will be able to give a second opinion of your friend's amulets.
