Collection of my Thai Religious Amulets/Pendants - Message Board/Guestbook |
Religious Thai Amulets are immensely popular among many Thai locals or even the Chinese that residing in South East Asia - probably most followers never have the chance to worship the religion and hopefully with the little image that we wear on the body can provide some form of relief. As I mentioned in the site, probably it takes a Thai to create such a high quality website features specifically on these lovely collective pendants. As I can never be claimed knowledgeable in this strong thai traditions but since I am a web developer in nature, I create this solely for personal consumption and hope to provide a linkage among all passionate collectors. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Enjoy.

Hello. I think you have created quite a unique website on this specific topic. Currently, they ain't many high quality website of such nature (in English) on the Internet and I am happy to conclude this is easily be one of them. I have spent the last few days browsing through all the images presented and I am truly happy to see so many good Thai Buddhist images are being showcased here (although a small section of those are quite "commercial"). Nevertheless, I jsut want to compliment you for the fine effort in enabling this website up for all Thai Amulets lovers worldwide. I am retired old man and currently staying in Seattle with my son and daughter in law. There are very few knowledgeable amulets lovers, so your site makes my boring life here more enjoyable now. Via the links you provided, I have found a couple of new sites which are extremely informative, Mr. Lek's site is one fo them and I have finally found two (Phra Rod & Nak Prok) that I currently used from another link (although there isn't much info provided). Please keep on with your work and you can rest assure I will always come back and visit here again and again. Thank You for the time and may Lord Buddha always blessess you and your family.2033. Hello, I noticed your images of the SD at page 4: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/leofoo/Thai-amulets/Wichien/Soomdej/index3.htm has cracks all over the surface. I have seen one similar image (the top right hand corner) at one of the local shop. Are they made to be like that or are they natural cracks ?? The golden framed picture at the bottom has a larger cracks, are they for real or RARE pieces ??2035. From : Co-Maintainer (leofoo@mir.com.my)

ERic: Other than those which I have specified - all those images are not my possession. Instead, you can try to make contact with the owner if the page has a contact information. I have told Wichein relating to your request and don't worry, Buddhist amulets are not always a merchandize items and they defy the basic spirit of why they are being made. You can call him directly and he will select for you, based on your criteria and budget. An alternate way is to go shopping on your own but minus some comfort if you are new to this hobby. Sorry for putting your mail on the board, as I was in Bangkok/Chiangmai the last 1-1/2 week and I hope someone can answer your question on behalf. Have a good day.2036. i am really interested in thai amulets and in fact, planning a trip to thailand to get some for myself and my family. particularly my mum, whose health has not been excellent lately. I will return soon to spore and in fact will be visiting malaysia in June for my grandma's birthday. currently, i am wearing a phra kaew ( emerald buddha ), LP thuat, LP Nern, LP Buddha Cha Toh and the 'chinese' big bellied buddha, or MI LUO FUO. they are not expensive or famous amulets, for i am not able to afford them. i believe if you have faith in the amulets, they will protect you just as well. they have been with me for a long time, but it is only lately that i have this sudden desire and thirst for more knowledge and collection of amulets. there are a few amulets that i am interested in. Somdej,Phra rod, soomkor, Phra phongsupan, nang phra ya, khun paen, pidta, phra kring. Can any surfers provide a clue which is good for this purpose ? Thanks.2037. I think probably yopu are referring to a image like this shown at this page?http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/leofoo/Thai-amulets/statue/index1.htm I was told by friends that it carries a name something like the one used in the site. It is supposedly meant as a Thai God of Wealth (? ..not sure). I am not very sure which is your next amulet that you are referrring (never mind, I am not very knowleadgeable either, but as leofoo said, who can claim he is a master in this hobby ?)2038. As what I have concluded earlier since my last visit during April that this will be quickly turned out to be another great website. I am right on the spot ! I have notice a great deal of additions being made to the various pages and more extensions have been created which is a good sign. So, looks like apart from the awesome classic SLR camera profiles, you have created another great resources on the web ! S.Y. Taipei.2040. Dear Co-Maintainer: Yes, the price for framing in MBK is expensive and the workmanship varies from shop to shop - Some are alright, and some are downright lousy. Could you kindly e-mail me the address/location of the specialised shops/street so I can go frame my amulets there in my next trip. Thank you.
