Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Nikon FM Series SLR camera models - Message Board/Guestbook

The Nikon FM Series is the longest serving model and the popular 35mm mechanical SLR in the market. In a series of fine camera design and manufacturing, Nikon introduced the Nikon FM dating back to 1977 which remains until today with a series of variations and updates. As every individual photographer has his own personal style to express himself visually while at the same time, maintain his own photographic equipment in a very personal manner, This section allows you to share mutual knowledge & experience among all Nikon FM series camera users. Some of the opinion presented in this site was very personal I hate to see them affecting a decision regardless it is an acceptance or rejection any of the models within the series. So, here is a section dedicated to all of you where you may also present yours. I do hope it is beneficial to all of you. Enjoy.

This site is specifically created for some of these great SLR bodies by Nikon, its creator. despair: 8500 ? What currecy are you referring ? certainly it is not usd. Why don't just buy a cheap, used Nikon FM2n instead, value is always preserved even when you decide to sell it later (entry AF and digital "devalued" fast...). Anyway, it is not a bad idea just to buy a so-so range digital P&S camera either, much depends on your patience of shooting, waiting for developed films (and many curses..). If you are seriously looking into photography, FM2n is a best entry camera for your consideration as it forces you to learn from scratch. This comment may invite many other feedbacks, but I would tick to this.

I recently acquired both the md-11 and the md-12. However neither of them won't work together with my FM. On another FM and FE-2 both drives wrok excellent, so I figure it has to do with the FM-body. Any suggestions how to overcome this problem?

Hi, I recently obtained an FM-body with md-12. However, often the shutter releases in a sequence of two times Instead of one..., an the counter wón't go any futher than 32. And, on top that, one can actually release the shutter with the depth-of-focus-button! It looks like the shutter has had a severe blow. Any suggestions? Get rid of it or repair it? And the md-12 is completely dead: the red led will not light up, even with new batteries. No action whatsoever. Any thoughts on that? Something i do wrong or might try? Thanks in advance
