Sometimes we all become too interested in the camera body because that is where most of the gadgets are. But it is the lens that makes the picture and most often the lens has a more direct influence on the eventual image quality 'output'. If economy is a consideration, you should consider buy a less expensive camera body rather than less expensive lenses. If you buy a SLR camera with only one lens is also not logical because you might as well buy a cheaper camera with a fixed, non-interchangeable lens like a P&S. But modern lenses has such fantastic features such as high power zoom with previously unimaginable zoom range which actually makes a single-lens-do-all photographic system viable. All those messages posted on the variuos Message Boards for SLR Models are not short of interesting comment and remarks on lenses. Well, not to confuse others who are just interested in cameras, I thought there is a neccessity for a separate Message Board for those who are interested in discussion on various issues on lenses as well..

Unlike the Message designed for camera of various makes, this MB is one-for-all type and thus I hope this section can be maintained as a peaceful zone. The maintainer of this site reserved all the right to censor or even delete any un-related, excessively hostile messages posted herein. This site is specifically created just for lenses. Can anyone help me with comments/test results on a Nikkor AI zoom 35-200 F3.5. I could not find any comments on the otherwise great mir.com.my site. I am specifically interested in the optical qualities of this wide range zoom. Thanks for your kind efford.

René

hi keith:

you're probably not going to find a new lens in OM mount any more, but used ones are plentiful. i have found KEH (www.keh.com) of atlanta to be a good source and an honest dealer; there is also eBay, of course.

Hi,

I have a 75-210mm Nikon zoom lens which takes a 52mm filter. I cannot find anything about this lens - it is not the 70-210mm series E as that has a 62mm filter. It is manual focus AI-S, and looks about 10 years old. I bought it cheap from a second hand store. Anyone know anything about this lens?

Regards
Ross

It seems like there is no place that one can find lenses for the Olympus SLR's today. I am looking for a 28 - 80 mm lens to fit my OMn camera and just can't find one . I am just wondering if this forum can lead me in the right direction. Dont care what make the lenses are, as long as it can fit my Olympus camea . Thanks /kfc

I'm looking for a x1/4 close-up filter for a Medical Nikkor 200mm 5.6. I have 3 questions:
- does anybody have one for sale :-) I pay a high price !
- Does anybody know the diopters values of the six close-up filters of the Medical Nikkor ?
- Does anybody know if a non-Nikon filter is available ?

Thank you. Hugues Deriau www.pixclinic.com Damaged Photographs Restoration.

Russ Butner: For both current and older versions of MF Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 and 24mm f2.0, you can refer to here: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/nikkoresources/105mmnikkor/index.htm and http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/nikkoresources/24mmnikkor/index.htm
Those are very good write-up and compilation of various Nikkor optic, you should spend sometime reading them.

I found a ROWI rubber one for my 50/1.8 but I could not find any for a 28/2.8, 35-70/3.5-4.5, 100-300/5.6 DO you have any ideas? Please reply to my e-mail (harnod@atlas.cz) as I do not access this page often. Thankx Matej
