Sometimes we all become too interested in the camera body because that is where most of the gadgets are. But it is the lens that makes the picture and most often the lens has a more direct influence on the eventual image quality 'output'. If economy is a consideration, you should consider buy a less expensive camera body rather than less expensive lenses. If you buy a SLR camera with only one lens is also not logical because you might as well buy a cheaper camera with a fixed, non-interchangeable lens like a P&S. But modern lenses has such fantastic features such as high power zoom with previously unimaginable zoom range which actually makes a single-lens-do-all photographic system viable. All those messages posted on the variuos Message Boards for SLR Models are not short of interesting comment and remarks on lenses. Well, not to confuse others who are just interested in cameras, I thought there is a neccessity for a separate Message Board for those who are interested in discussion on various issues on lenses as well..
Unlike the Message designed for camera of various makes, this MB is one-for-all type and thus I hope this section can be maintained as a peaceful zone. The maintainer of this site reserved all the right to censor or even delete any un-related, excessively hostile messages posted herein. This site is specifically created just for lenses. If your intention is to dispose your optics or looking for any used unit, please use the Free Trade Zone site instead. Hello!
I bought a Canon EF 70-210mm F4 Lens yesterday and it is stunning in my opinion.
Is there any user manual available from canon for this lens?
I would like to get to know the lens by reading the canon manual for it.
If someone has an idea where to find the manual please let me know.

I'm not having any luck trying to get focus with a Telyt f=20cm 1:4.5 on a Fuji XE-1. I'm using a Fotodiox adapter which seems to work fine...
No focus through the entire scale range. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance....5. From : Jim MacCallum (jimmacphoto@yahoo.com)

Just got an ancient 500mm F8 Reflex Nikkor. Amazing lens. I use it with the Sony VG 20 and EH 50 without issue. Astounding, quirky and fun to use and is now part of a set of old lenses capturing the world using digital tech.8. From : Burak Efe Arslantas (b.efearslantas@hotmail.com)

Hello.
I have a Nikon 600mm f4 ED AiS MF serial number 201058 and have successfully used several teleconverters with it that are specifically identified as Not Usable with the lens -
These include
TC 200, TC 201, TC 300 and the TC 14A with my D2h
Why are these teleconverters identified an unusable with the lens?
These comments are on the Nikon 600 mm f4 super telephoto page
Thank you in advance.10. Just purchased a Nikkor-QD C 15mm 5.6 (322322) and I need a recommendation to get it serviced. General condition is 80%+ but the lens hood has taken a small ding. Although not of importance (on it's own) it may be the cause of the filter ring being very tight to turn (can't turn it all the way to the Neutral filter). I'm in the UK but prepared to send the lens anywhere.
Hoping someone in MIR land can advise,
Thanks
Peter
