Sometimes we all become too interested in the camera body because that is where most of the gadgets are. But it is the lens that makes the picture and most often the lens has a more direct influence on the eventual image quality 'output'. If economy is a consideration, you should consider buy a less expensive camera body rather than less expensive lenses. If you buy a SLR camera with only one lens is also not logical because you might as well buy a cheaper camera with a fixed, non-interchangeable lens like a P&S. But modern lenses has such fantastic features such as high power zoom with previously unimaginable zoom range which actually makes a single-lens-do-all photographic system viable. All those messages posted on the variuos Message Boards for SLR Models are not short of interesting comment and remarks on lenses. Well, not to confuse others who are just interested in cameras, I thought there is a neccessity for a separate Message Board for those who are interested in discussion on various issues on lenses as well..

Unlike the Message designed for camera of various makes, this MB is one-for-all type and thus I hope this section can be maintained as a peaceful zone. The maintainer of this site reserved all the right to censor or even delete any un-related, excessively hostile messages posted herein. This site is specifically created just for lenses. If your intention is to dispose your optics or looking for any used unit, please use the Free Trade Zone site instead. The Photography In Malaysia has no Guestbook on its own, because it is an integral part of the MIR site. I have just bought an Exakta 70-210 1:4.5-5.6 MC Macro lens in Nikon AIs mount. I wonder if you have ever heard of it. It looks exactly like the Nikon 70-210 except for the focus distance marker which goes in the opposite direction. I could post some photos of it if anyone is interested. Best wishes from UK

Hello Bernard:

I'm afraid your FL-mount Canon lens cannot be used on an EOS series SLR. I don't think it can be adapted to any other digital SLRs either. The only interchangeable-lens digitals that I think could accept it are the "Micro-4/3" cameras made by Olympus and Panasonic. These are not actually SLRs but use the image sensor to operate a digital viewfinder and/or LCD screen for focusing. All things considered, though, I think you would be best advised to let the lens go and start fresh with the digital system that suits you best.

Hi Buddy,

I have Canon lens FL 200mm 1:4.5, i think this one is from late eighties, back at a time when my late father used to take pictures while crossing rain forest in Borneo.
Just curious if I could use it on my EOS rebel with mounting diameter is 58mm.
The lens have 48mm mounting diameter on analog operation profile.
If I could use it on modern DSLR camera, is there available adapter or a connector between two different mounting?

Hope that I will receive a good response from you so that I can start taking picture with old stuff. Seeing world through the same lens my father did.

hmmmm.... love it

Urgent request.

Need prior to 11-16-2009.

Please email me at jatuttle@citspi.com and we can arrange for a suitable payment process.

Thanks

I purchased a used 600mm autofocus ed id nikon lens. Does anyone know where I can find a depth of field chart. I took some mallard duck photos at f.4 and part of the duck appears soft.

I have a line on a used Nikon d40. I have a N90s with an AF 28-70 zoom & an AF 70-210 zoom. I can't figure out if both or either of these is an AF-S or AF-I that would work auto focus on the d40. Can anyone tell me how to tell?

Hi Carlb:

Yes, you should be able to do that. I don't think your light meter will work, though.

Steven,

I have many official Canon manuals/part lists, but until I dig the manuals out I do not know if yours is written up. Exactly what parts are you looking for? Some of the manuals do not scan well as they are very poor copies, so just e mailing the number is probably the best option - if I have the information.

Contact me directly with your wants.
