Sometimes we all become too interested in the camera body because that is where most of the gadgets are. But it is the lens that makes the picture and most often the lens has a more direct influence on the eventual image quality 'output'. If economy is a consideration, you should consider buy a less expensive camera body rather than less expensive lenses. If you buy a SLR camera with only one lens is also not logical because you might as well buy a cheaper camera with a fixed, non-interchangeable lens like a P&S. But modern lenses has such fantastic features such as high power zoom with previously unimaginable zoom range which actually makes a single-lens-do-all photographic system viable. All those messages posted on the variuos Message Boards for SLR Models are not short of interesting comment and remarks on lenses. Well, not to confuse others who are just interested in cameras, I thought there is a neccessity for a separate Message Board for those who are interested in discussion on various issues on lenses as well..
Unlike the Message designed for camera of various makes, this MB is one-for-all type and thus I hope this section can be maintained as a peaceful zone. The maintainer of this site reserved all the right to censor or even delete any un-related, excessively hostile messages posted herein. This site is specifically created just for lenses. If your intention is to dispose your optics or looking for any used unit, please use the Free Trade Zone site instead. The Photography In Malaysia has no Guestbook on its own, because it is an integral part of the MIR site. Hi D:
Yes, there is a rangefinder forum here at
http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/messageboard/rangefinder/index.php
It's fairly new, and it's open to discussions of other old cameras (Exaktas, TLRs, etc) as well as rangefinders.2. From : D.Purtings (Dpurttingf@hotmail.com)

Q: I read your old stuffs, is there a rangefinder camera site here for other matters/discussions ? I am collecting a few oldies for display and want to add some collections.3. Hi Ago:
I'm only guessing, but I think the reason that you don't see the bokeh the same in the finder as you do in the finished image is that the finder screen does not see the full f/1.2 aperture of the lens. This means that the image in the finder appears to have more depth of field than the actual image if you have the lens set faster than about f/4 or so. Because bokeh is very sensitive to the aperture in use, this may lead to some bokeh surprises when shooting at very large apertures. It also leads to random focusing errors when trying to shoot wide open on such a fast lens.4. From : Ago (agostino_faggiotto@yahoo.com)

Dear sirs,
I have recently bought a used Zuiko 55mm 1.2 that I use on a Canon EOS body. The series number of the lens is 103982.
Do you know how old is this lens? Am I right to consider this a relatively early sample (3982)?
In the digital age, I do not mind to get pictures with a yellow cast, as I can balance the color in a snap.
I love and respect this old lens that I use naked (no filters). The bokeh is always an on screen surprise, as it is not possible to appreciate it through the viewfinder of my EOS camera (20D).
Any idea why?
I thank you for your reply,
Ago5. From : dick l (rhl0630@aol.com)

Hi folks. I have been given an old Nikkor 600 mm f/f.6 with the AU-1 focussing mount. I hear that I shouldn't mount it on my F90X. Can anyone tell me what needs to be done to the AU-1 to enable it to work? I presume it is something to do with the recessed screws on the lens mount. Thanks.8. Hi Dennis:
No. Canon's "EF" autofocus lens series fits the "EOS" series of autofocus film and digital cameras that are currently in production. The mounts of the manual focus and autofocus systems are not the same.9. From : dennis topp (dennistopp@yahoo.com)
