Sometimes we all become too interested in the camera body because that is where most of the gadgets are. But it is the lens that makes the picture and most often the lens has a more direct influence on the eventual image quality 'output'. If economy is a consideration, you should consider buy a less expensive camera body rather than less expensive lenses. If you buy a SLR camera with only one lens is also not logical because you might as well buy a cheaper camera with a fixed, non-interchangeable lens like a P&S. But modern lenses has such fantastic features such as high power zoom with previously unimaginable zoom range which actually makes a single-lens-do-all photographic system viable. All those messages posted on the variuos Message Boards for SLR Models are not short of interesting comment and remarks on lenses. Well, not to confuse others who are just interested in cameras, I thought there is a neccessity for a separate Message Board for those who are interested in discussion on various issues on lenses as well..

Unlike the Message designed for camera of various makes, this MB is one-for-all type and thus I hope this section can be maintained as a peaceful zone. The maintainer of this site reserved all the right to censor or even delete any un-related, excessively hostile messages posted herein. This site is specifically created just for lenses. hello there. i'm a beginning photographer and i've gotten a Nikon F camera. so bear with my dumb question, but i've always liked the fish eye effect prints, so i wonder if the latest nikkor fisheye len would fit to my nikon F body? i wasn't sure if it would because it seems like 16mm Nikkor Fisheye f2.8D would fit to f4 or f5 camera well because of its 'automatic' focus or so whereas i'd have to manual-focus on my own. responses via email (see my e-address above) would be appreciated. gracias!

I own F-1, F-1n, and EOS 1n bodies. I need to acquire a slide duplication capability. Any info on FD bellows and slide duplicators would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Please can someone advise me. I am in Zimbabwe at the moment and have found a 28mm 1:2.8 lens series E, someone is wanting to sell. It is a little worn but otherwise fine. The guy wants me to offer him a good price but I am clueless as to what it might be worth. Obviously I don't want to rip him off but give him a fair price for the lens. Can anyone advise me? Due to the currency here I would prefer to know the going rate in US$ or sterling. Thanks for your time. Donna

I Know someone through the net who is giving what he writes as a:

Canon 28mm f3.5 FD Lens

He describes the lens as having a chrome ring, something else that I am not familiar with. If anyone could email me and let me know what exactly he may have I would great appreciate it. Thanks.

I was wondering if someone could reccomend a good zoom for my AE-1. I also have a screwmount to FD adaptor if someone knows a great old screwmount lens as well. I want a professional quality zoom (approx 28-100 but if I can find a wider range without losing quality that would be good). Speed would be nice but sharpness is more important. I'm not familiar with the Non-Canon FD lenses like Tamron, Vivitar, etc and was wondering if there was a good lense not made by Canon that I might find for a little less $$$.

I'll probably buy one on ebay and I noticed that non-canon lenses tend to be less popular so I thought I could grab one for pretty cheap but I want to make sure it is a quality lens. If I have to hold out for a quality Canon I will but I need some advice.

Thanks
Ed

I have some futher information that might help. Kurabashi is not written on the lens, but there is C.C The lens cases that came with them are snap downs, not zipper. I hope this helps. Oh and the 158mm is telescoptic.
