Sometimes we all become too interested in the camera body because that is where most of the gadgets are. But it is the lens that makes the picture and most often the lens has a more direct influence on the eventual image quality 'output'. If economy is a consideration, you should consider buy a less expensive camera body rather than less expensive lenses. If you buy a SLR camera with only one lens is also not logical because you might as well buy a cheaper camera with a fixed, non-interchangeable lens like a P&S. But modern lenses has such fantastic features such as high power zoom with previously unimaginable zoom range which actually makes a single-lens-do-all photographic system viable. All those messages posted on the variuos Message Boards for SLR Models are not short of interesting comment and remarks on lenses. Well, not to confuse others who are just interested in cameras, I thought there is a neccessity for a separate Message Board for those who are interested in discussion on various issues on lenses as well..
Unlike the Message designed for camera of various makes, this MB is one-for-all type and thus I hope this section can be maintained as a peaceful zone. The maintainer of this site reserved all the right to censor or even delete any un-related, excessively hostile messages posted herein. This site is specifically created just for lenses. Early direct mount models/ lenses are more rare and highly collectible as compare to Flektoskop, I would think it may not be surprising to find it worths the reagion of approx 1500-2500 USD. Flektoskop models are cheaper (800-1200USD) depends on condition.2. From : Jim (nomail@noSpamming.com)

I have asked this on another board (this site is most exciting), but just ask some Gurus here: just curious, how much does the Zeiss lens shown here in your site would cost ? I mean the old, chrome type as shown...

Hello everyone! I just picked up a well used FM2n and I have not even loaded my first roll of film in it yet and I have found what I think is a problem.
I have two 50mm lenses - a f/1.2 AI-s and an f/1.8 AF-D. I put the 50mm f/1.8D on my D40x and metered a scene for exposure. I got 1/30th of a sec at f/2 at ISO 400.
I then used the f/1.2 AI-s on my FM2n and metered the same scene and I got 1/500th of a second at f/2 and ISO/ASA 400.
What gives? I'm a little concerned about this so I have not even loaded film into it yet - I was really looking forward to metering with all my AI-s lenses.
It is not the batteries as I just changed them. Is there a way to calibrate the light meter? Or is it possible that some dirt/foam is obstructing the light meter? I'd appreciate any tips!4. From : Jwoods (centurywoods@nospam.com)

Check this page: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/nikkoresources/6070nikkor/ultrawides/20mmud.htm there shows a lens hood which wrote 20mm at the middle. It was used on the 28mm PC-Nikkor as the gentleman said. As we know none of the later 20mm Nikkor has such a large 72mm diameter, it could possibly be the one. Why don't you ask the gentleman.5. Thanks for replying Rick,I bought my EF in 1973, and now in 2008 thirty five years and many thousands of exposures later without breakdown, it is still a better camera than I'm a photographer, still in mint condition, which is more than I can say for myself.
You say on your website the EF was expensive at the time, it was but,it had the same build quality as the F1.
Since I've had the EF I have added to my FD system two F1N AE body's, an A1 and recently a T90, but I still have a special affection for this camera.7. From : Cam (Noreply@spam.com)

Justin,
The FL telephoto lenses will fit the T70. However you should note that there is no such beast as an "Aspheric" FL 300mm. There are two Fluorite 300mm lenses, designated by a capital 'F' on the name ring - these are a f2.8 and a f5.6. The f2.8 is an exceptional lens for its time, so if you are offered this type cheap you will not regret the purchase - just make sure the optics are clean and clear.10. Dear Mr. Luigi, are the older FL (Canon) lenses can be used with my T70 ? I was offered a "Aspheric lens 300mm cheaply by a local dealer. THANKS, you are very good and knowledgeable.
