Sometimes we all become too interested in the camera body because that is where most of the gadgets are. But it is the lens that makes the picture and most often the lens has a more direct influence on the eventual image quality 'output'. If economy is a consideration, you should consider buy a less expensive camera body rather than less expensive lenses. If you buy a SLR camera with only one lens is also not logical because you might as well buy a cheaper camera with a fixed, non-interchangeable lens like a P&S. But modern lenses has such fantastic features such as high power zoom with previously unimaginable zoom range which actually makes a single-lens-do-all photographic system viable. All those messages posted on the variuos Message Boards for SLR Models are not short of interesting comment and remarks on lenses. Well, not to confuse others who are just interested in cameras, I thought there is a neccessity for a separate Message Board for those who are interested in discussion on various issues on lenses as well..
Unlike the Message designed for camera of various makes, this MB is one-for-all type and thus I hope this section can be maintained as a peaceful zone. Ken: That’s a good question! I haven’t taken any notice before but I just looked at a few of my Canon lens and they all have that brownish tint, have you noticed any difference in the finish print or slide with both lenses?

I have 2 canon FD 50mm 1.4 lenses (the newer type). Both are identical, except that the coatings seem to have a different "tint" to them. The one with the lower serial number has a mostly blue tint, and the one with the higher serial number has a more golden or brownish tint, sort of like the older S.S.C. lenses. Did Canon switch to a different coating? The newer lens came in an "Official 1984 Olympics" box, with a lens cap to match. Any info is appreciated.6. From : Ken (keavey9@cs.com)

J: The older FD lenses used a chrome ring to lock the lens on the camera, (Breech lock) and a few 50mm lens had a chrome ring on the front where the filter would screw into.9. From : Winston (winclowe@yahoo.com)

tk: You use the zoom lens as you would a fix focal lens. And zoom the lens in or out as you require, set the lens on auto (to the A or green circle next to the highest F #) Good luck10. Hi,
I wondered, if anyone might know where I can find an original FD to EOS adapter (not the macro).
