Sometimes we all become too interested in the camera body because that is where most of the gadgets are. But it is the lens that makes the picture and most often the lens has a more direct influence on the eventual image quality 'output'. If economy is a consideration, you should consider buy a less expensive camera body rather than less expensive lenses. If you buy a SLR camera with only one lens is also not logical because you might as well buy a cheaper camera with a fixed, non-interchangeable lens like a P&S. But modern lenses has such fantastic features such as high power zoom with previously unimaginable zoom range which actually makes a single-lens-do-all photographic system viable. All those messages posted on the variuos Message Boards for SLR Models are not short of interesting comment and remarks on lenses. Well, not to confuse others who are just interested in cameras, I thought there is a neccessity for a separate Message Board for those who are interested in discussion on various issues on lenses as well..
Unlike the Message designed for camera of various makes, this MB is one-for-all type and thus I hope this section can be maintained as a peaceful zone. The maintainer of this site reserved all the right to censor or even delete any un-related, excessively hostile messages posted herein. This site is specifically created just for lenses. hi leo:
i don't think there's any way to use the OM lenses on your Canon; even if there was some sort of adapter, you'd certainly lose the auto diaphragm and all of your autoexposure functioins, at best. you're better off selling the lenses and buying their canon equivalents.

Hi Mary Ann
The battery you need is probably a 1,35V px625 mercury batteri
Try this adress: http://www.px625.com/px625/main.cgi
If you are lucky it should still be possible to get one (or two). There are also other options to the mercury batteries if you skould not succeed in getting one.
Good luck - Jomar H5. From : James Song (jamesong@starhub.net.sg)

I have a Canon AE-1 Program camera with a variety of lenses. However, I inherited an Olympus OM PC camera with even more lenses. Then the Olympus camera was stolen. Are there any adapters around that would let me use my Olympus lenses on my Canon camera? I prefer the Canon anyway. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Leo Foss Ottawa, Canada8. Hi Guys, Just a general question. Has anyone any info on Nikons 80-200 mm f2.8 manual focus lens. It is a huge lens (95mm front element). It appears so rare even Nikon here in Australia denied it's existence. But I have one. Some research suggests there were 3007 of the lenses made for trial and only released in the USA and Japan. Can anyone shed any light for me? Thanks..10. Hi Karen: I was the semi-official photographer for my daughters' softball and baseball teams for several years. For a team photo you can use pretty much any lens, since you're free to pose the group where you need it to fit them all in; something like a 28mm wide angle can be handy for this situation. a 28mm is also handy for poking through the links in the fence to get shots of batters at the plate and runners coming home.
My biggest challenge was not so much photographic as diplomatic: you need to make sure you have action photos of ALL of the players, even (especially) those who don't get into many games... this can be hard, not every play makes for good photos. You also need to be able to identify the players in the prints so you can get them to the right people.... also a challenge, with uniforms and helmets, if you can't see the numbers. I made notes about the brand and color of each player's shoes to help me sort them out. For shots at the bases you'll need a longer lens, probably about 200mm.... and possibly even longer to get identifiable shots of outfielders. If you have a 28-200 zoom and a teleconverter you can cover the whole thing, except that it will be too big to poke through the fence for the home plate shots. Congratulations, and enjoy the season! rick :)=
