The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

Gene - Exp comp should work in any mode. First thing that occurs to me is that you might be using small amounts of compensation with print film that is getting canceled out during automated processing. Try it with some slide film, which is much more sensitive to variation - less latitude - and cannot be altered in processing. Or, with negative film, try a somewhat larger amount of EC, and take it to a lab where you can ask for "no corrections." Let us know what you find. Ken Ken

Would someone be so kind as to tell me how to use the exposure compensation on the t90? I have tried several times and I can't tell any difference in the photographs, Obviously I am not setting it correctly. Does this work in shutter speed priority or should it be set to the manual mode? Thanks Gene

The wind on mechanism on my T90 is defunct. I have sent it for repair to a Canon distributor but they claim parts are not available and cannot repair. Does any one know of a repair shop that can make the required repairs? I live in the UK.

EEE MESSAGE: Regarding this problem some people are having, I too have had numerous problems with this. One minute, everthing is kosher. .. the next, its messed up. For me, the past problems have resulted in a busted shutter. Take it in to a good camera shop and have the shutter checked out. That could be the problem. Good luck with it.

I'm interested in adding a pc socket to my T90 body. I'm proficient in electronics repairs and am a machinist. I trust the job won't challenge me much - if I can find the procedures somewhere. Is there a 'do it yourself' type explanation of this modification somewhere on the web? I've been searching, but haven't found anything yet. Thank you all very much for the time.

Terrence - T-90 bodies seem to be going in the $300-400 range these days. Depending on condition, to some extent. Check "completed items" on eBay, an used outlets like Adoramaand KEH. Ken

I am thinking about selling my T90 and need to know what could I get for whole package. All is in almost new condition, used it only couple of vacations in 80's in Europe and then was stored for all those years in padded case. Body like new, 3 Canon FD lenses (70-210 zoom 1:4; 35-105 1:3.5 72mm; FD 28mm 1:2.8), like new Command Back; New LC2 Infrared Remote; Like new 300TL Speedlight. All is in almost factory condition and working like new. I would appreciate your advise. Thanks Rudi
