The Canon T-90 System |
|
Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

I just bought a T90 and looks like it in good shape. Except when I looked into the fiewfinder and saw circles on the right side. I took the lens off and on the right side of the focus screen-there are those half circles on the screen. Any idea what caused this and is it normal?2. From : STEVE KOVACH (kovachs@hhmi.ucla.edu)

i have recently purchased a t90/300tl and was having trouble with the a-ttl mode while using the flash. for instance while trying to use shutter proiority a-ttl: the flash is on and set at "a-ttl", camera set at "tv", and lens set at "a", and the viewfinder gives me exposure warnings after the pre flash fires unless i set the exposure at what it would be with no flash! for example if i stand like four feet from the wall in my house and point the camera at it, the shutter i select will blink in the view-finder untill i select one that is extremely slow like 3 sec. is this right, should i ignore the exposure warning?3. I am looking for a T-90 and am wondering what price I can expect to pay. I have located two locally but neither the seller nor I know what the market is for these bodies. I haven't seen either yet but the seller is an ex-pro who is cleaning out his equipment. He tells me they are both 8+. One had a bath in a mountain stream several years ago but was serviced by Canon and he says it functions fine. No history on the other yet.Any recent buyers/sellers care to share their thoughts? Anyone have a 8+ condition body they want to sell?
Thanks.

Thanks Ketil Guess it's back to the research stage...any suggestions on a decent quality zoom or telephoto? Like I said, I'm replacing an older 70-200mm zoom and had in mind picking up a replacement zoom and/or a larger telephoto (400 or 500mm). Thanks jeffrey7. From : Jack (photo@elcomtel.com.au)

Hi there. I recently bought a CANON T90 in mint (near new) condition. I don't have a instruction manual and I am having trouble finding one.... If a kind person out there has one scanned in any format (PDF, JPG, GIF) I would be greatful for a copy (just send as email extension). My other concern with the T90 is the apperture control. I can only select F3.5 to F32 for my apperture setting via the rotary dial whilst the lens is in the "A" setting. Everything else seems ok ie: shutter speed selection, DX sensing of the film, Spot metering, etc I can't stop down the appeture below 3.5F even though I have tried a SIGMA 28mm 2.8F or a CANON 100mm 2.8F S.S.C. I tried it with a CANON 70-210mm F4.0 Zoom and the lowest it stepped down to 4.0F as expected. I don't have access to my CANON 50mm 1.4F breach mount (new) as I recently came back to Austrlia after living overseas for several years and I haven't found it in all the crates I packed.
Am I getting something wrong....user or the camera? Thanks in advance for any help forworded. Regards, Jack
